PostGame Thread Official Post Game Thread- Cowboys beat the Pats

Immediate Postgame Reactions
I'm not sure how next year is going to be some kind of massive leap in the talent of this team, it's going to be pretty much the same team with a few minor additions.

Mac is already playing average quarterbacking unless you're expecting him to jump and become a top 10 QB in one off season i just don't see some kind of massive upgrade of talent coming for the 2022 Patriots.

You've also got a few key veterans who probably won't be back like McCourty and Hightower.
If they could ever clean up the mistakes and turnovers

Whats maddening is that this game was there to win.

So was Miami and Tampa. 4 - 2 was a real possibility because its not as if the Pats are being blown off the field.
Yeah, well when you’re losing that many close games, it points to one issue and one issue ONLY - coaching.

BB and Mcdaniels coaching scared. Running the ball on two consecutive plays in OT. They conservative play calling will not win many games. NO confidence in Jones and the OL and that is what kills them and why they lose these close games. BB's vote of no confidence sent a terrible message to the team. Why no Smith and Henry when it really matters?

Yep.. So conservative despite the fact that the Patriots RBs were averaging better than 5.3YPC.

Claiming that it's no confidence in Jones says you aren't paying attention to what's going on during the game.

Smith and Henry were BOTH on the field when it mattered. Henry was helping to block the extra rushers that Dallas was bringing in OT as they tried to pressure Jones.

I dunno, I think Steve Belichick is doing a good job. The defense just has to play Collins over Bentley and Barmore over Godchaux. The D contained the Cowboys offense as good as one can do without a star CB1.
It's more the offense that seems like it could improve with a new oc.

.
Did you watch the game? I suppose the forced fumble at the goal line that saved a TD doesn't count in your books because "Bentley bad". Did you see Collins skylarking and not continuing to run after the play leading to two big gains after he replaced him? Bill pulled him and talked to him after that.

Not going for it was a really poor decision. Defense was gassed and we were going to be short on time if we somehow got the ball back.

Not to mention a tie was not a bad result for Dallas but, is a killer for us.

Can’t defend it. Absolutely gutless decision. I can see once or twice on those fourth and shorts but we punt every ****ing time.

Bentley with the most tackles by far last time I checked.

just looking at the stats (I’m at work), they played welllllllllllllll

Rhamondre is gonna be our next Kevin Faulk. I’m speaking it into existence.

Now Dallas implodes this won’t age well but...

can’t wait to watch the highlights.

Maybe Dallas was conceding the run to an extent?

Sad to think that was usually a typical quarter for Gronk.

Gronk has had plenty of games where he had similar production that Henry had today. Even in his prime it wouldn't be shocking for him to have a handful of games where he has only 30-40 yards and even no TDs. The difference is he would have 10-12 games where he would have over 100 yards and even two or more TDs.

He isn't a third down back through. They can definitely use him in the passing game, but he will never be a White, Lewis, Woodhead, or Faulk type of back in this offense. They need someone like that.
I totally agree that he's not a third down back but he doesn't appear to be useless as a receiver.

The thing is this is supposed to be the easier part of the schedule. They will win next week but after that it's a bunch of road games against some decent teams.

The D is better than the O so I'm not sure what that leaves you with. Dallas puts up 30 on everyone.
Uh oh...Compliments from a jest fan =the kiss of death

WRONG. Pay attention to what's actually going on instead of spewing BS.

The Pats only needed 8 plays to get 3 of their TDs. They had 7 in the 1st quarter that got them two. And then just 1 in the 4th quarter to take the lead after the Pick 6. So, you don't need a lot of 1st downs when that happens.

The Pats had 2 drives killed by poor execution. The play that resulted in the strip sack and the play that resulted in the Pick 6. Neither were "bad play-calling". Both were bad execution by the offense. Someone without an axe to grind would acknowledge this. |

The BOLDEN RUN on 3rd down was a bad play call. But that was the only REALLY bad one.

Yep.. Cowboys stacked the box so much that Harris and Stevens had a combined 23 carries for 124 yards. 5.39 YPC. Great job showing you don't know what your talking about Condon.

Try sticking to actual facts instead of ranting on with your feelings.

Yes the Pats offense was pathetic for much of the game with conservative play calling.

After the second TD in the first they went fumble, punt, end of half, punt, punt punt. They gained 48 yards for almost 3 quarters.

It can't be lack of player execution at all..

Agholor, Meyers, Bourne with key drops during the game. Yep.. That's coaching..

Someone completely missing Gregory that led to the strip sack of Jones.

The DBs unable to stop Lamb when it mattered most.

Wise not setting the edge that led to Elliot's 21 yard run..

Van Noy deciding to leave his man in coverage in a pathetic attempt to get to Prescott only for Prescott to complete the ball to the man that Van Noy left open. Yep.. I'm SURE the coaches told Van Noy to play like that.

Hunter Henry whiffed on a block. Why wasn’t he benched?

Bourne drops a pass that turned into an INT for a TD, but wasn’t benched.

Wynn gets bulldozed again and allows a sack for his 2nd consecutive game, but doesn’t get benched.

Stop benching RB’s.
Wynn did get benched following that play. And luckily Bourne wasn’t because he ended up scoring on the next play. Don’t recall when then hunter henry play happened.
