OLine's 2-4 Record Crappiness Stabilized, 7 wins in a row now

This thread was over after the first few posts. Everyone just repeating what someone else has said over and over.
Has anyone said this OL sucks?
How about OL coach sucks?

Just wanted to get it in here just in case.

I'm still wondering what's changed since last season when this same group (minus Brown) played way better. Cam was the QB and now it's Mac. Popovich and Bricilo were OL co-coaches.

Did Cam have a better relationship or communications with his linemen? It seems reasonable given his 10 seasons and charisma.

Was Popovich a better coach than Bricilo? Maybe.

Something is amiss and it's not just injuries or covid. Brown is a non factor since he hasn't played this season. Was Thuney providing more leadership than we realize? Is there a mutiny on the Bounty.

Mac calling protections at the line? who knows but it's shocking how bad the same players are.

When Scar retired, it was a huge loss. And who knows what we are missing without Earnie Adams.

One huge, glaring problem is the appalling state of the WR corps. It must be the worst in the NFL, thanks to BB and his stubborn refusal to learn from his WR drafting mistakes. Mac has no one to throw to. Watch carefully when he tried to throw; it seems as if the primary is alwasy covered and he has to progress to a secondary or tertiary receiver, but by then the pocket has collapsed. Sure, he is sometimes looking off the safety, but when he goes thte secondary or tertiary, they are usally covered so he has to try to thread it in or take a sack. Mac is getting desperate and starting to force the ball into covered receivers with predictable results.

It sucks so bad that here we have this superb QB with no one to throw to.

How many college teams have better group of WRs than the Patriots? Lots, I suspect.

So no Brown or Mason. IF Wynn and Onwenu don't come off the COIVD list, then the Pats will field who?

They are left with Andrews as the only starter, with Karras, Herron, Durant and Cajuste.

Herron, Karras, Andrews, Durant, Cajuste, YIKES!!!!

Obviously Ferentz is going to get activated from the practice squad, maybe Sherman too.

Luckily the Pats have a stable of outstanding RB, huh, what? really? geez! Brandon Bolden running behind that O-line, you might as well forfeit the game and save the wear and tear on the players.

Should Mac not play ? Not worth jeopardizimg his health

Bricillo looks to be a terrible OLine coach.

He was but the O-line (as bad as it was under him) was playing better than this year's.

I'm trying to think of the last Pats coach ever fired mid season but I'm all for getting rid of Bricillo NOW and bringing back Googs or whoever else. Anybody else.

Bricillo is under-qualified and over his head, not an unusual trait for Little Billy's ass-istants.

Cam might have given better pre-snap protection adjustments than Mac is giving right now, though I believe Cam himself admitted that his Centers would give those calls while he was with the Panthers...

Thuney is indeed missed, greatly. LOL at the blind lemmings who believed that we could lose our Best OLman and actually...improve?!?

How many d-mbas-es is mcidiot going to hire on the offensive staff. Last year Fisch was totally in over his head as qb coach. mcD was also high on Gase.

Watching these first four game, I have not seen Jones or Andrews make many of any bad calls.

but both tackles have played historically bad and that has to get fixed!

Youngstown State is almost at the bottom of their conference. Maybe Bricilo can go back and help their OL.

Googs is at LA Tech. I didn't realize he out of the NFL. Never liked him, but whoever said it was right. As bad as he was, his lines played better than this line.
Is there anyone out there that they could add? Dave DeCastro, Rick Wagner, Michell Schwartz, Mike Iupati? Do any of these guys have anything left? I know you like to have the continuity of having the same line together all through the year, but it worked pretty good for the Pats when they picked up the guy from the Chiefs(Brian Waters?) early in the season. He started the rest of the year and made the pro bowl if I remember right. I would love to see that again. Anyone out there?

Besides the aforementioned DeCastro (G), Wagner & Schwartz (both RTs), there is also Russell Okung (LT)... Mike Iupati retired during the offseason... All 4 are over 30, so they would be nothing more than 1- or 2-year stopgaps; but they're also All a dam sight better than Any of Herron, Durant, Thanksdad, Redmond, Billy Sherman & Drake Jackson.

Interesting if Okung is available.

1. I gotta give credit to the OLine for holding up against the worst team in the league this week.
2. Herron didn't look terrible at LT.

If Mason and Onwenu come back this week I think the lineup should be:
Herron - Karras - Andrews - Mason - Onwenu.
