Immediate Postgame Reactions
Not sure how to feel about Cajuste looking better at RT than Herron or Durant despite never getting snaps over those guys in the last 4 weeks. I guess we'll see if that changes the next 2 games since Brown's on IR at least that long.
Ross with what I've seen of both Herron and Durant so far and what I saw of Cajuste today, our tackles going forward until Brown gets back should be Wynn and Cajuste.

we got super lucky today.

The defense again looked old, and poorly coached

Josh again keeps putting mac is bad positions with these up the gut runs.

Mac had some scary bad passes today.

Seriously though, how is the defense this bad?

The better question is which RB you would have cut instead? It’s not like any of them were on IR at cutdown and we were only keeping so many.

There’s this mentality that if we hadn’t traded Michel we still would have kept all the RBs and used roster spots for all of them without any thought to where that roster spot comes from. Second guess the decision all you want, but follow it through and tell me who is the player you got rid of instead.
Taylor.

Just want to note that after a few weeks of lambasting others for talking about "moral victories", it seems some folks are taking today as a "moral defeat"...

Unless they are a star RB, this weird phenomenon goes on around the league. Apparently, Coaches are unaware that the most hit position in the league with the shortest shelf may fumble on occasion.
He knows, better than everyone. He's just a curmudgeon about it.

Bolden.

If they were THAT high on Bolden, I'd have released Taylor. I know that Fears likes him, but he just hasn't produced much when given the opportunity. And he's a liability in pass-pro.

You don't keep Taylor over Michel when Taylor hasn't proven anything. And then they could have brought Stevenson along, working on his pass pro and not running into the backs of his o-linemen.

That was MY thinking prior to the trade. A trade I didn't like.

Now, they are down to 3 healthy RBs in Stevenson, Taylor, and Bolden. None of which really WOW me..

You mean they have to figure out how to draft players like Jackson, Hightower and DMac? I just want to make sure you fly fully understand the irony of your post

Agree.
How soon we forget
Three SB in a row
0ne year reset.
Nobody does either. Nobody has ever done both.

Teams get lucky, hit 1 SB, Most of course, never get there
KC, Sea, lost #2, proceeded to The Long Fade
Seattle is ready revisit lynching.
Not Marshawn, the hanging kind.

Atl is Still fallen and I can't get up, from 28-3

Here?
BB fields another competitive team
Will be in every game
With a chance to win

Mac first 4th qtr game winning drive of his career....hopefully, the first of many.

The defense was fine in the second half, held them when they had to....

Good point. . Doesn't make sense at first but will make sense later in the season as he grows and the offense opens up more. Wax on wax off :)

What is considered competitive? I mean I am not even sure they have played a good defense yet.

I know it's unrealistic to give much thought, but if the Bills lose to the Chiefs tonight, Pats will only be one game behind them for tops in the division with both games against them left this year.
It's absolutely realistic. I don't agree with the patently false claim by some idiotic commercial that "impossible is nothing." That's just grabbing an already stupid phrase, switching the order, and acting like you came up with something new.

However, "improbable" definitely is nothing, and that's what we're looking at. There was no way the 2001 team got out of the first round--hell, we shouldn't have even been there. Beat the RAMS? Pfffft. It is fine to think big, yes of course it doesn't mean it WILL happen but it definitely can.

We will look back at whatever outcome we get and decide it couldn't be otherwise. Look forward knowing that.

There are too many in here who believe that the height of football knowledge is to deny any success, however small, and embrace negativity. I don't actually think they're fans, but that's beside the point. Point is, you're effing right we would be right in the thick of it. There's no freakin tablets from a mountaintop that say that the Pats now must suck in every way. It's just convenient if they do, if you want your "GM" or "OC" opinion to matter (because you need the team to be losing for that to pertain.)

We're suffering from reductionism. We note one thing bad at a position grouping. That must be all that needs to be said at that position, rinse, repeat. We never have something we have to work on; we just have a collection of things characterized as "pathetic." And we never see a team as a group of guys trying to learn (and do) a job for 17 weeks, with the job changing every week. We look at them as units and stats. And some **** about being able to measure heart, blah blah blah.

In reality, it's not plucking this unit, saying the names of guys you like, putting ratings on them, quoting their fantasy stats, collecting their Topps cards, whatever. It's their ability to hang in there in adversity and stay grounded when they're flying high, together with making the best of what abiity they have. It's their ability to say no, I don't care what it looks like, I don't care that I didn't beat my man THAT play, I'm beating him the next one. We have to slug it out in most football games now, and news flash, we had to even with Brady.

Last week we slugged it out with a good team, Tampa Bay, and lost by a hair. Today we slugged it out with a crappy team, Houston, and won it. We hung tough to do it, we stood up and said "we're better than that," on defense we clamped down, and on offense we opened up just enough to get the win. We've got another 12 games this year to slug it out.

This isn't a bunch who "can't win at a high level" or whatever. They're a team that some of us have no confidence in. My own reductionist sense says they're an 8-9 or 9-8 bunch. If they catch fire and stay relatively healthy, they're a playoff team. And once you're in it you can win it. Ask those Gintz teams that kept beating us in the SB.

Um triggered a core dump. Go Chiefs.

Promising…yes.

”Great” is a bit of a stretch at this point. Has not thrown for 300 yards in a game this season. Averaging a meh 7 yards per completion. Has not been accurate throwing downfield. Could have had a couple more picked today.

His coach agrees with me, hence passing up 4th and 3 last week.
“Great” is considering he is a rookie in the first 5 games of his nfl life.

Saints. Bucs even with their injuries.

Am i the only one that also didn't think there was a conclusive replay to be able to overturn the TD with the Harris fumble on the goal line?
UTTER BS REVERSAL
Call ON THE FIELD was TD. Supposed to be uncontrovertibly evidence that NO portion of the ball was over the white before jarred loose.
Really BAD job by the refs, especially since they had time to consider.
Blandino is a complete tool!

we won!

have just a couple things to work on as we all know. 2-3 is way better than 1-4.

tough assignment next week. Zak is playing awesome.

grab the hard hat and back to work....good to win boys! Way to show mental toughness!

You mean they have to figure out how to draft players like Jackson, Hightower and DMac? I just want to make sure you fly fully understand the irony of your post

JC Jackson was undrafted like Meyers. Hightower and DMac were both drafted by Reese when john carroll idiots weren't here making decisions. The Pats continue to suck at drafting CB/WR and have been especially crappy from 2013-2019 drafts with too many people from ohio involved in front office decisions.

I think people just thought they would get a better return on 160 mil.
Didn't realize it was 5 years down the line already with all those contracts expired.

Maybe your expectations are the issue when they have a Rookie QB on offense.

I think the money spent on Judon and Mills has been a great return to this point. Judon's up to 6.5 sacks now.
Mills played 88% of the defensive snaps in the first 4 games. Opposing QBs completed 53.8% of their passes for 92 yards and no TDs.
