I don’t think they care

Only if it would effect the ability to retain some guys coming due next year. If it’s going to prevent them from re-signing someone like Godwin, they care. I don’t think they care about 2023 and beyond, yet.

Him and Alexander would be lethal.

Why would he want to go on the Packers beyond this year? Rodgers is leaving.

If he really wants to be a Packer I doubt he gets $15 mill. They seem to be generally pretty conservative when it comes to free agents.

Seems like a dumb move to pay over $10M for a CB2. Unless Alexander is out for the season, he’ll be back and is better. The Packers have failed to get a decent CB2 for a few years, but this would seem like overkill. Maybe they don’t care with the one-year circus they have going on.

I would have taken a sucky offer over nothing this year. I felt like we should've moved him last year before the draft. I felt like we should've let Thuney walk too. Both decisions cost the team a couple draft picks for the future.
The did let Thuney walk. You mean trade in 2020 before the draft?

Should tell Tampa we want Scotty or he's headed to GB. The choice is yours, you have 4 and a half hours.

I’ve rarely, if ever, seen a 2 elite CB combo actually work the way in reality that it does on paper. They would be better, no doubt, but diminishing returns are at play.

Scotty Miller has a significant toe injury...rumored to be turf toe. Gilmore for Godwin straight up...

If only the Packers hadn’t spent all that money on Randall Cobb (WR6)

More info presumably from the agent:

Seems to me to be a lot for a new team to take on: Pay me like a top corner, yet I can't/won't play at 75%-80% level, whatever that means?

Now the quad is "good", but nothing on tape to verify that, but pay me like a top corner?

but then why not just let him play the year out and let him hit free agency? He’s easily worth more to us than anything we can get for 5.8m for this season. Does bb see a decline in play?

There are just so few teams that have a WR2 that's so good, that having 2 corners you can leave on an island is crucial. Plus, chances are you always have at least one safety who can be dedicated to bracketing one of the top two guys. 90% of the games you play, a journeyman CB2 is enough to compete with their second best receiver. Diminishing returns, like you said. Where it really helps is depth, but then you're paying CB1 money (which is substantial) and not getting CB1 production on most nights.
