It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I agree with you, but you also have to think of which team has salary cap room to sign himThey're in play but Mahomes, Rogers and Prescott are just as attractive as Brady so the highest bidder of those four have the best chance of landing him I think.
Apparently they asked him to take a pay cut and he refused. Very strange. Not very often a CB like this is out there and someone is going to be very happy to have him if he is indeed healthy as reported.Yeah, kind of surprising we couldn't at least get a 4th or 5th but per Schefter, he's not going to take a discount and that could scare teams away. He's a great player when healthy but at 31 and coming off an injury, he wants to be paid top money...I guess JC becomes a priority now this offseason.
Yeah, I can see how he'd have no trade value while looking for $15 million.
Ok, 0.0001 then.I wouldn’t say that. There’s never been any real sign of animosity between the team and Gilmore at all. I don’t think it’s likely, but I wouldn’t say it’s 0%.
Tampa can't afford him. That's why they got Sherman for $1.8MI find it hard to believe belichick couldn't get anything for him last season or this season.
Anyway Congrats on Tampa for getting Gilmore.
Again, same devil's advocate question. We did not know in early November, the trade deadline, that he would be on the PUP list in December. We had no idea that the quad surgery would not, at least by our lights, have him ready now, 10 months later. So GM Bill got absolutely NOTHING in return for 2 All Pros Thuney and Gilmore.
Absolutely unforgiveable roster management.
I suspect they may plan on using the money to extend JC Jackson. But they could have traded both last year at trade deadline
For those of you thinking that the move is for Gilmore to test the waters, I'm really sorry...he's ain't coming back
They’re already in damage control mode.
resign JC, bring in Collins and another RB?That seems to be the most likely answer. The question then becomes the timing: Why now? It would seem if you need the cap space right now, you're looking at an extension or bringing another relatively big name player in. Feels like there's another shoe to drop here.
Dude, no. He's not coming back. Face reality.Exactly. Bill cuts him and says “see what offers you find and let me know.”
Why makes you think that?I guess JC becomes a priority now this offseason.
I don't think Tampa can afford him even if he plays for 7 mil this year, 15 next year and 2 void years on top. Would releasing Howard help? Is Alexander ok in GB? Do they play alot of man? Imagine how good they would look with 2 top 10 CBs. Of course they would still lose in the NFC championship because of Rodgers but still.
