Wickersham book discussion

Lombardi had Starr, Walsh had Montana, Payton had Brees, Noll had Bradshaw, Brown had Graham, Landry had Staubach, Shula had Marino, Johnson had Aikman, Holmgren had Favre, Dungy had Manning, Shanahan had Elway, Levy had Kelly, Coryell had Fouts, Ewbank had Unitas/Namath, and etc...etc....

Show me a coach who won without a QB. The only one I can think of in NFL history was Brian Billick...and Trent Dilfer wasn't exactly a bum either...

Owners own. Coaches coach. Players play. Water boys get water. Spoiled fans post critical stuff on message boards.
Okay.

Look. Belichick imo is better than most if not all those coaches. I think its my right as a fan to question the team. I've been pretty rational on these boards and don't have an agenda. I am just trying to say that if this season goes poorly for our team and next season does too, is it time to accept that Belichick's culture could be dead. I think next season is critical.

I'd take Butler in a wheel chair over Rowe (who was graded out as the worst CB in the NFL), Badmostly and the legend of Jordan Richards taking his place.

Eagles wanted Rowe to be out on the field and Bill giftwrapped him to the Eagles on their best WR Jeffrey. Unreal.

How many times is this guy gonna write about the Patriots? Does he ever do anything else or is this his only bread and butter/gravy way of getting clicks and notoriety?

Honestly I’d never trust buy any material when it comes to the Patriots that was endorsed by the players or front office. The tell all will come one day when either Brady or Belichick decide it’s time. Honestly BB’s sounds like it would be more interesting just based on how much time he’s been in the NFL.

No sh!!t. Doesn't sound like Malcolm thought he couldn't contribute, right after the game!

Yeah, I think we're in trouble. In 2019 you could already see the clear regression for the team. We made the WC, but we were pretty bad. In 2020 we slipped more. This season "could" be even worse. As successful as Belichick has been, there comes a time where a culture dies and you can no longer make it work. I don't know if its dead yet, but another losing season? The data won't be on Belichick's side.

I hope this ship turns around soon because it seems like the entire ship is falling apart at the seams.
It was a matchup problem with the Titans.

The pats strength was their secondary.

The Titans had the best RB and he abused the poor run def the Pats had.

No doubt in my mind the 2020 Pats would have beat the Chiefs had they met up

Wow, we're 16 pages into this thread and it hasn't even been 12 hours since it was posted...this has to be some sort of record

Wickersham says you're telling the truth.

I’m not sure how to resolve this logical paradox.

I can't believe you guys are taking this stuff seriously, half may be truth and he other half truths twisted to make everyone look bad. I'm not buying what Wikersham is selling.
Six super bowls and BB is an arrogant idiot, RK is a jerk off (see what I did there) and TB wanted to leave, but didn't until last year.

I've read this jerkoff over the years...he's an entitled little punk behind those geek glasses. I can tell no one has ever punched him square in the mouth in his life. If they had he would NEVER be running his yap like he does today.528 pages of sewerage IMO.

And Kraft, unprompted, declared to a bunch of people that Bill is the biggest ******* he ever met, and this never made waves? Like nobody had their phone out, like they do everytime Kraft makes any kind of appearance. Nobody there thought this might be something sports media would want to hear.

Complete fantasist stuff
Yea that's another one.

I think this book is something along the lines of a movie that was loosely based on a true story.

15% of the movie actually happened but the remaining 85% is fiction which is purposed to accentuate the real story- which isn't all that interesting outside of New England.

Even the staunchest of BB supporters should agree with you.

Unnamed sources can get facts right, but I won’t take any of their opinions or interpretations with any seriousness. Wickerscam has legit scoops, but the sensationalizing between the lines with innuendo is where he veers off course.

I believe it is factual that Alex Guerrero was at one point removed from team activities. I believe that Tom Brady did not meet with Bill Belichick when he left. I believe Bob Kraft said those specific words about Belichick.

What I don’t know is any of the context behind any of these things, and I don’t trust a sensationalizing writer to fill in the gaps. Example, is Kraft just pissed about something and joking around when he light heartedly calls Belichick an *******. Is he busting balls? Is he saying it as though he’s confessing his deepest secret, dead serious?

Again, I go back to Wickerscam’s tweet yesterday. He quoted Belichick claiming that he had done everything over 20 years to please Brady. I looked up the quote; Belichick was talking, very specifically in response to a question, about how he would prepare Brady for the season with reps, practice, etc. It had nothing to do with the context Wickersham was attempting to jam it into. The guy is well connected with stories, but he’s also a dishonest hack when it comes to context and details. His agenda is to sell and get clicks, not to report accurately.
