Wickersham book discussion

Maybe the book will tell us what Brady really thought about this speech from Happy Ending Bobby. "BeSt FoR ThE NeW EnGlanD PatRiotS ouR FanS anD ThE NfL"

Nothing says "best for the New England patriots and our fans" like putting yourself in position to get caught and video taped getting handies and whatever else those women do with shriveled old man penis.

Definitely had the fans and team in mind in both circumstances.

After the game, Belichick says HFA isn’t a big deal. They lose the AGCCG by two points in a game where crowd noise demonstrably affects the game.
Bill's logic was really bad in 2015 and arguably his worst coaching year. You'd think any moron would want to take care of business in New York so you'd wrap up HFA with all your injuries and rest against Miami and Wild Card Weekend. He already lost to Denver during the season and historically doesn't do well there, but says "HFA isn't a big deal". Really? He doesn't recall all the home games the Pats took advantage of in the past on their way to their Super Bowls? 21 straight home victories? Their road record in the playoffs was 1-3 and became 1-4. This goes under Billy's Blunders Greatest Hits Collection.

Pats really lost a Super Bowl because Butler hurt Patricia's feelings and Bill didn't like that. LMAO. I mean...

No puking yet but I’ve been nauseated a few times. No appetite at all. I’d like to thank my daughter for bringing this home from daycare. S.hitting the bed at age 35 was always something I strived for and I accomplished that feat this very morning. I’m guessing you’ve had it before under similar circumstances?
Wife & I caretaking the grandkids when very young, "Here come the germ factories!" We'd always get sick the 1st few years. Somehow it gets better.

New England Patriots players cared.

You should root for another team. We can request a new sub-forum for you, and all the fans here that root for the Selma Proud Boys.

doesn’t he have the freedom of speech to endorse a candidate of any party? i mean are the players that sensitive?

a.) LOL @ this thread....yall are eating right into WickerSHAM's hands....

b.) Kraft calling BB an a-hole? So? Kraft is still paying BB 10+ million a year to coach the team. "Idiot Savant"? Well...at the time Kraft's hiring was controversial given the BB resignation press conference in NY.

c.) Players pissed about a letter BB sent to a certain guy? Remember that BB also did not accept the medal of freedom 4 years later and learned a lot about social issues in 2020 (he even said so in his own words).

d.) BB not meeting Brady? Who cares? He might have actually been busy that night. And when Brady left...didn't BB say that his career was...I quote, "unfathomably great"?

e.) BB hugging Goodell? OK, that's damning! LOL!

f.) O'Brien trying to get fired? LMAO!!! I am not even sure he would have been a replacement coach here...ASSUMING Brady had any input.

g.) As for the Butler benching....I'd like to paste a quote from Butler himself:

"I feel like this was the reason: I got kind of sick. I went to the hospital. They probably thought I was kind of late on the game plan; I wasn’t as locked in as I should be and could have been a matchup deal. It could have been anything. But Bill Belichick has been doing this for a very long time. He took a veteran out of Super Bowl XLIX (against the Seahawks) and put in a first-year rookie, and that turned out right, so you could never question his decision. It didn’t work out right (against the Eagles). It didn’t work out the best for me or him or the New England Patriots. But I can say he won more than he lost, so it is what it is. I always have love for New England, Bill Belichick, Mr. Kraft, all those guys. Life just goes on.”

h.) Last, but not least...it is ok to be critical of personnel decisions or in-game decisions, but to completely denounce our head coach...especially after the man delivered us 6 Lombardis is just...... SMFH! The man is a walking encyclopedia of football history...he has a library of books that nobody else has. Yall don't think he'll be writing a book someday when he's done with the game? I'll wait for THAT book.

That was the very worst statement I’ve ever heard from him. It really shocked me. And then the media kind of just glossed over it.

If you look at the Brady-Manning matchups, the home team had won in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2013 postseason, and 2014. The last time one beat the other on the road was 2007, and the HFA for Indy in that game was huge, with a 10 point fourth quarter lead against maybe the most dominating team ever at its peak.

Gillette was Manning’s nightmare stadium; in 2013, he blew a 24-0 lead; in 2014, he got waxed 43-21. Mile High was Brady’s nightmare stadium. The Broncos had beaten Brady in Denver with Griese, Plummer, Orton, and Osweiler (just a few weeks earlier.)

I still don’t know how Bill would possibly not realize that the home field in 2015 was by far the biggest advantage. I honestly would have taken the Patriots minus Gronkowski with home field over playing in Denver at full strength.

Same.

It’s a joke, dude. I’m just ribbing you.

Missing pachyderm in the room is Tom & Bill's reaction to Bendover Bob's deflate gate 180. At 1st he was going to take on the NYFL front office and owners defending Tom. God knows, all of us science & engineering types knew he had the evidence. But then Bob goes all submissib=ve "For the good of the 32" Were I the Pats stellar QB that would not please me. Nothing on this?
BB at 1st "Ask Tom" as all these guys were flummoxed at the uproar but then within days BB responds with his mona Lisa performance citing the science of PV=nrT. Probably from Matty P who is now Satan's acolyte in this thread.
Also, where's the insider scoop on AB's departure? To me it's the issue pushing Brady over the edge. Who forced AB out? What was Tom told?

God Wozz...I mean Matt Chatham is such a dunce. Way to completely miss the point you nerd.

Chatham got absolutely owned by Breer there.

I had posted this on another forum but wanted to also post here to see what people think now that we have had time to digest these excerpts.

I think something big is going on. First, the Patriots would have read this book weeks ago. Advanced copies were given to the media and they would have let Kraft/Bill know about the bombs contained. The fact that there was no mitigation effort is very strange. I assume Kraft is going to speak at some point to address the scathing quotes that were attributed to him about Bill. I am not sure how he can't.

My feeling is this was a huge hit job on Bill it appears and I am starting to think more and more about Kraft's comments in the off-season about how they used to laugh at teams that spent in FA and his comments on the lousy drafting. The new personnel guys that were brought in ... Bedard saying that Bill was not really running things like he used to in the past at TC and that Patricia was doing more of the hands on stuff.

I don't know but there are lots of dots to connect here. Wickersham does not have an ax to grind with Bill over anything. He was fed this information from sources close to everyone in that org.

This does not past the smell test at all given the magnitude of what is purported to have happened with Bill over years. The Brady stuff is minor compared to the stuff from Kraft. He really needs to speak and soon as if he doesn't, I don't know that Bill has much time left in NE. I am not sure how you could read it any differently whether you think it is accurate or not. For an org that has been impenetrable for two decades, a lot of people spilled their guys to Seth. That's not an accident.

I don't really care about the book.

What I care about is if this season ends up with us having a second losing season in a row. That would mean without Brady Belichick went 5-11 in, 2000, started 0-2 in 2001, missed the playoffs in 2008, went 7-9 in 2020 and then so on from there. You can never take away the 6 rings from Belichick but missing the playoffs for all four seasons without Brady and starting off 0-2 in 2001? There comes a point that you can't deny stats and facts.

By the way, this was the season Belichick splurged in the offseason. Bill went all out this season to build a good team.

Wickersham is famous for making things up.

Wickersham says you're telling the truth.

I’m not sure how to resolve this logical paradox.

I did the math once now revising....

In 2000 the average NFL team was worth $423B
In 2021 the average NFL team was worth $3.5B

That is 8+x increase in valuation over a 21 year period.

In 2000 the NEP franchise valuation was $464B
In 2021 the NEP was worth $5B

That is a 10+x increase in valuation over a 21 year period.

They way I see it, BB and TB12 have made Orchids of Bob $1.5B.
Dang how did the NFL drop so drastically in value?

423B down to 3.5B?

I honestly think any other head coach gets fired for throwing away a Super Bowl like he did. Maybe it was Patrica’s fault, but Bill could have put his foot down and still played Butler.

No wonder Brady and Gronk wanted out after that game.
Question. Do you truly believe that NE wins that game with 2017 Butler ?

Lombardi had Starr, Walsh had Montana, Payton had Brees, Noll had Bradshaw, Brown had Graham, Landry had Staubach, Shula had Marino, Johnson had Aikman, Holmgren had Favre, Dungy had Manning, Shanahan had Elway, Levy had Kelly, Coryell had Fouts, Ewbank had Unitas/Namath, and etc...etc....

Show me a coach who won without a QB. The only one I can think of in NFL history was Brian Billick...and Trent Dilfer wasn't exactly a bum either...

Owners own. Coaches coach. Players play. Water boys get water. Spoiled fans post critical stuff on message boards.

I disagree. You and I have debated the crux of those comments 1000 times.

When a player admits they weren't "dialed in" and "100% prepared" that speaks volumes.
Butler at less than 100% >>>>>> Bademosi.

Bademosi was trash and Patricia's plan of using Eric Rowe against Jeffrey with safety help was a disaster.

Not trying Butler for even one defensive series in the second half was inexcusable.

All they needed was 1 defensive stop and they win
