What record do we finish with?

Looking at the schedule and assuming up and down play with a few more ups It's possible to get to 9 wins. I'll say 7 though.

Do people really think that the Pats should be favored in Houston or against the Cowboys? 1-5 is in play. Then it’s the Jets so 2-5 and then the Chargers Panthers and Browns. Should they be favored in any of those 3 games? What if Mac gets killed because of his OL in the next few weeks?

Feel like people aren’t realizing how bad this can get.

I agree with Cowboys,Browns,Panthers and Chargers but not about houston. They have a rookie QB as well and one of the bottom roster of the NFL. The only thing they are favored seems to be their incredible effort from every single player. They are playing as hard as they can

At season's start I thought 11-6 was attainable. Right now... 8 or 9 wins is all it looks like they can realistically get. Of course, the outlook can always change again.

They'd be 3-0 if the oline wasn't performing so incredibly far below their talent level... So if that one group of guys plays like they have previously proven they can, it changes literally everything.

I thought 2-2 after listening to how good the offensive line was, the elite stable of running backs, the double tight ends, the best secondary in the NFL. I figured Ws vs NYJ bc the f$#king suck and vs NO at home. Losses to Miami because Flores has outcoached Coach Bill more often than not and to TB because Brady has a score to settle. Initially I thought they'd hover around the .500 mark and wrap up 9-8, 8-9, around there. with a little luck, and depending on whether or not the conference has a lot of really good teams, perhaps the Pats are in the playoff hunt on the last day of the season. But after watching the abject failure of the first 3 games - lets not forget the NYJ handed the Pats the ball FOUR times, twice in NYJ territory, and they only generated 2 touchdowns all game.
What, pray tell, is "good" about this team right now? no playmakers on offense. I was saying the exact same thing the entire second half of 2019 and I was getting pilloried by the fanboys/girls on this forum. Guess what? i was dead on correct because ultimately they got embarrassed at home in the playoffs. They have no playmakers on offense, a couple on defense, and an absolute swiss farking cheese defense when it matters. And leave it to the idiot offensive coordinator to try to "open it up" for Mac Jones when he's playing behind a patch work garbage offensive line. If I know what play is coming inside the 20s (run play 90% of the time) what makes this f$cking idiot McDaniels think the other team doesn't know as well?
The head coach still thinks its 1990 when you could win Super Bowls with receivers named Mark Ingram and Lionel Manuel catching 2 passes a game. Unless the defense holds tampa to under 24 points, this year will be the same as the "Boogeymen" - hold weak or middling offenses to a respectable # of offensive points - but play a good offense, with a good coach, and a good quarterback and they wilt when the $ is on the line and the team needs a stop.
The Patriots are behind Miami and Buffalo in their own division. they've lost 2 straight to both teams. Only 3 clubs in the conference have scored fewer points than this McDaniels trainwreck, and the Patriots are the 6th lowest scoring offense in the NFL (i'm just betting Philly will score more than 12 and Dallas more than 6 tonight). After Sunday night next they will only have 6 home games remaining. If they drop to Tampa, we're looking at 1-3 and a need to go 9-4 the rest of the way to have a legitimate shot at the tournament....

Realized I should have put "X wins or less" in the poll. Oh well everyone gets the point.

I plan on seeing us play in L.A. in February.....you all are a bunch of Negative Nancies! LFG!!!
Hmmmmmmmmm.

Ugly, stupid uniforms...

Miserable, dreadful early season loss to a below average team...

Lots to shore up and work on, media ready to bury us...

Sounds like status quo to me. That's how we roll.

See you in the Super Bowl!

Had them going 3-0 to start w/ 9 to 10 wins but still missing playoffs. I'll stick with 9, though that CAR game doesn't look such a gimme as I thought. Maybe swap CAR w/ 2nd MIA game.

Updating, same result.

9 - 8 or 10 - 7 (miss playoffs)

Before kickoff I thought 10-7.

Now I'm thinking 8 or 9 wins
I was on this boat but at some point in the last few minutes I got hyped again. So now I'm fully confident the oline will become the strength it was supposed to be, and we'll go on a tear. There's no stopping us now.

The real season doesn't really start until mid October or so. So the Pats still have time to turn it around. It was this week in 2014 that Trent Dilfer was saying this:

I forgot. Who won the Super Bowl that year?

Now I don't think the Pats will go to the Super Bowl unless they buy tickets, but they still have a chance to become a playoff team.

Its hard to draw conclusion about any bb team, good or bad, from the first month. Right now they are not a good team , hopefully they come together and make a run.
