Cam Newton Interview: "I was bamboozled"

Even if you think you got done dirty behind the scenes, this is exactly the wrong way to react. You're a grown-ass many crying to daddy in a video about how you got done wrong? GTFO.

I mean, imagine what these videos would've been like all year if they kept him as a backup. I think this might tell you why he couldn't have been kept if they decided to start Mac.

For a guy who played as badly as Newton did last year, it's really hard to believe the amount of mental energy given to figuring out why he was released or coming up with reasons why he wasn't treated right.

2600 yards, 8 TDs in 15 starts. Benched multiple times. 7-8 record. Why are we doing this?

Here's a gem I just heard in the video...

Cam: "I was like Josh, like bruh, it's so new to me, like I've never been in a system that required me to know where the mike is, to know the front, to identify you know, certain fronts, and XYZ."

I'm confused about the trip being some kind of "set-up"? Cam seems to be saying he was tricked because the Patriots cleared the trip and he wouldn't have gone if he knew that would be the result. But he wasn't held out because he took a trip. The problem was he did not test himself properly. It really has nothing to do with the trip... Am I missing something here?
This is where we needed a Mike Wallace here asking the questions and not this Jim Gray-esque canned softballs from his dad.....

<In a Mike Wallace voice> Mr. Newton, did your employer the 6X Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots or the National Football league provide you with the name and location of an NFL-approved COVID testing facility in Atlanta"?

Thats why Mac won.

Bottom line.

Hey look another thread by the guy that has some weird love hate relationship with his team. Anything to try and paint the Pats staff or organization as "sleazy"....just waiting to see how Cam being "Bamboozeled" is somehow a "sleazy" underhanded super top secret plot by Josh. Josh strikes again!

He's gone. The better QB is here. Get over it.

They're not even softball questions, most of the time Cam is trying to say one thing and his dad says no you're wrong, let me talk, they screwed you, I'm mad. If anything this video is more about how Cam's dad feels than Cam.

There will be 1000's of reasons to Cam & Company as to why he was cut, and none of them will be because he played poorly or because Mac Jones played better.
He will blame everyone from BB to the Patriots to the NFL to your mother-in-law before he accepts that he is just not good enough and lost the job based on him!

wait, he truly thinks he wasn't beat out in camp?

Echo'ing a good comment @venecol made elsewhere: "If that's true, it makes me think someone was definitely trying to paint Cam in a poor light to justify his release. They leaked to media that people were livid inside the organization about his missing practice. Wow, that's pretty sleazy. WTF is going on in that building?"

It does sound like some people in the Pats building are being sleazy. The Ninkovich comments were total bush league. Skip Bayless' criticism was spot on here in terms of a broader narrative, not exactly the best look for Boston. And whoever supposedly leaked the crap rumor to Ninkovich, the not knowing the playbook garbage rumors, is also a human POS.
Cam paints himself in a poor light: if the man gets jabbed twice like billions of other people including the vast majority of players and coaches surrounding him, then the whole protocol thing disappears and him and his lisfranc get to keep fighting for the job instead of watching for five crucial days. Yet more poor decision making and leadership for Cam. Now he's on the outside looking in, he can't even visit a NFL team without being on the protocol for five days. At least he has a social media career to fall back on, lol.

Watching further on, he and his dad spend a full minute talking about how horrible the pieces around Cam were last year. A lot of those guys are uh, still on the team...

Good lord.

I just can't listen to Cam Newton for 1/2 hr.

He probably should've kept his mouth shut, and when he got home he should've utilized the voice command function on his TV remote and said, "Finding the Mike and other QB presnap crap, YouTube" and watched the most viewed video of the first 5 that popped up.

yeah, this is really going to help him land with another team for sure

Few can understand Cam's curse: Too much AURA

The good news: He and his pops, Fred Sanford, will be happy to tell you about it

Posters defending a QB who can't ID a Mike but has been playing football at the highest level for 20 + years. Even if that's not something specifically for you to do its one of the more well known task a QB should be able to handle. Starting from high school never mind the pros.

These threads are like following the blind in a cave. When did it become ok to spam the forum with stupid?
