Despite it being the preseason, anyone else finding this outcome strange given Eagles beat writers swore black and blue they were dominating the Pats in practices?
So Mac is 23-33 so far in 2 preseason games. 70% completion percentage. But when in the 2 minute offense to start the 3rd quarter was, he’s 13-14 total in both games, 93% completion percentage ! He was 8 of 9 last week and 5 of 5 this week. Holy crap. I don’t care who he plays against, that’s just really impressive.
Because Jones yet again may not acore a TD this game his performance will get over looked.
Overall though you love to see this consistency. He's pretty much the same guy this week than last week. Maybe a hair better. His first pass was meh, but since then he's been really good. I bett if he threw a broken covers 79 yard TD he'd suddenly be the talk of ESPN.
this ihas NOTHING to do with what I think about Mac. I LOVE what I;m sieeing and I SAID that. And he just ran a masterful series to start the 2nd half, BUT the regular season will all the starters in is a different story. Something that takes time. I also believe it would be much better long term for Jones if he replaces Cam for whatever reason than to start the season and then have to be lifted like Tua and then have to come back,
Mac is going to be our QB (we hope) for a LONG time. Patience will serve him better. ESPECIALLY when you have a vet that is playing well.
