Love me some Karras. I think he’ll prove more important than some might expect. Solid, vet, insurance/spot starter. Much to like in a “6th OL”.

It's silly to hyper focus on practice stats on the QBs.

1. Going against the elite starting secondary is way different than throwing and beating Ja'Juan Williams over and over.

2. Most practice throws haven't been live speed with pads, and throwing against no defense doesn't even matter, it's more for learning and acclimation of not only QBs but a lot of new receivers.

3. I think Mac is the most promising rookie QB in his class but in general it's real bad news if the Pats are starting their rookie QB, if so then raise the white flag and trade all our vets before week7 because starting Mac means this team won't contend this year.

When the alternative is cam Newton, the best thing that can happen for the prospects for this year is starting the rookie.

It’s still early, we’ve seen camp flashes who did nothing in the preseason games and then get cut. I would say the first 4 I mentioned are locks (unless they indeed trade Harry). Wilkerson has probably passed Zuber, Hall and Nixon. But like I said, it’s pretty early, let’s see what happens with the preseason games and unfortunately possible injuries.

I feel like Hunter will always be dealing with some kind of injury throughout the entire season.

Can’t wait for Thursday night. I want to see them in live action vs an opponent. Hopefully the injuries to Henry, Cardona & Andrews aren’t serious.

A lot of injuries today but not sure if I'm sounding the alarms yet. A shoulder issue for Henry is hopefully no biggie. Cardona and Andrews with hand issues are slightly more concerning since obviously they both snap a lot, but hopefully that's something that can heal and be worked around. At least with Andrews, they've got a high quality backup in Karras if they need to give him a little bit of time. And as was seen today, if Cardona needs a little time, they have not one but two guys who can long-snap in a pinch (Jonnu and Wise)... Could certainly be worse. Things happen in full pads.

I thought we re-signed Burkhead with all the hand injuries. IDK...I feel like a shoulder injury is more concerning...but I could be wrong. Hoping everyone gets well soon.

And we just don't have them this year. If we could hit on our pass rushers in this years draft (which we might have) and hit another next year, that could put our D where it needs to be potentially. I'm hoping we can do it.

So it appears that your contention is that if a team doesnt have a HOF QB they have to have HOF sack artists to be Super Bowl contenders?

Ten years ago...I think that argument has more merit than today. The rules are too skewed to the QB making even good QBs adequate if you have the other puzzle pieces from a depth perspective across the rest of the roster. In fact, I think that a superior back end (DBs) is the more critical "if the team doesnt have a HOF QB" criterion in today's game...look at last year's Bucs, the Legion of Boom, etc.

100 percent agree.
If the choice is Wilkerson or Fumagi or Lacoste to me not looking at position it has to be Wilkerson.
More upside can take the top off a defense.
You can get a third or fourth tight end stashed on PS.

Good depth, but high quality? I think that's a stretch. That's a exploitable downgrade in the middle of the line.
