Taylor Hall is returning to the Boston Bruins.

The free agent left winger has signed a four-year, $24 million contract ($6 million salary cap hit) with the Bruins, the team announced Friday night.

Taylor Hall's contract includes the following clauses:

2021-22: NMC
2022-23: NMC + M-NTC (16 team no trade list)
2023-24: NMC + M-NTC (10 team no trade list)
2024-25: NMC + M-NTC (10 team no trade list)

I don't mind the years...and if he continues to perform as well as he did after his arrival at the trade deadline, then he won't be too badly over-paid...Not a fan of no-trade clauses, but at least this one is structured so that the Bs have more options with him as the years go by...

Yeah, it's a very team friendly deal. The money's an easy pill to swallow, the years are of a nice length for his age, and the team has at least some transactional flexibility after year one.

Now they just have to figure out who his Centre is going to be...Krejci is gonna have to take a discount to return...NFW he's seeing those dollars & years from the previous contract ever again...

My only concern, signing hall. Is when some of the established vets leave. And the team isn't as good as it was. Will he become the lousy teammate he was reported to be on his previous teams?

Krejci may not even want to return. There's always been the possibility of him heading back to his home country after his deal ended, and Sweeney's answer on the subject didn't do anything to slap that idea down.

I'm fine is Krejci walks. I am probably underappreciating him, but i think he can be replaced

They might feel in fact that Coyle can replace him on the 2nd line...They'll still need to find a 3rd-line Centre however, because they have neither a proven one nor a promising one anywhere in the organization.

As bad as Coyle played last year, I can't imagine them thinking he's the man to slide into the Krejci role.

You wouldn't think so, but this is the same "brain trust" that believed DeBrusk, Senyshyn, Zboril, JFK & Frederic were better options than Kyle Connor, Matthew Barzal, Thomas Chabot, Jordan Greenway & Alex DeBrincat; so...

That's drafting prowess versus current NHL talent evaluation, and it was Sweeney's first draft, so I'm not going to hold 2015 against him at this point. It was an epic pooch screw, even with Carlo, but that happens. The Frederic pick never made a lick of sense, though, so I'm with you on that one.

But I just don't see how He goes to Hall and says "Here's Coyle, your new center!" at this point.

I can't vouch for the source, but he's apparently not the only one reporting it, according to WEEI:

Hearing David Krejci coming back to Bruins. Good source- the one that has told me all along that team & player wanted to get it done, as reported to
@Johnston985
& Flynn on Sunday. Deal being finalized. Big piece in place to lock up top-6

I really really hope the deal's for short money and even shorter years.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the logic behind the two latest signings (Foligno, Ullmark).

Vladar traded to Calgary for a 3rd round pick.

OK, Sweeney's got me trying to figure out just what the hell he's trying to do.

vlad didn't have any options. If they wanted to send him down. They would have exposed him to waivers and got nothing for him. swayman has options. Maybe that has something to do with it. i think the bruins are trying to overhaul the 3rd and 4th lines.

Don Sweeney cites Linus Ulllmark's age and experience as a complement to Jeremy Swayman. Door remains open for Tuukka Rask to return.

Door is also open for David Krejci to return. Meanwhile, Don Sweeney says it will be center by committee.

Don Sweeney mentioned the possibility of assigning Jeremy Swayman to Providence if Tuukka Rask returns. I will be very surprised if Swayman plays himself back to the AHL.

Nick Foligno says speaking with Patrice Bergeron helped him with his decision. Bergeron spoke with Craig Smith last year.

Nick Foligno mentions David Krejci's uncertainty and the possible opportunity to move up in the lineup as making Boston a good fit.
