Brady will not shut up since leaving the Patriots

It'll be interesting to see, years from now, whether Brady made more money from football contracts, or business contracts (including the sales and equity value of TB12 plus the usual endorsements, etc.).

If he’s anything like Jordan it’s the post career stuff by far.

Brady was just interviewed....and they want to promote the show....

Don't care what the GOAT says. He earned the right to talk all he wants....

And we will put him on his arse in week 4, baby!!! LFG!!!!

Brady just did the impossible of going to a 7-9 team with no off-season and beating Rodgers, Brees, Mahomes in the playoffs to win a 7th Superbowl. He can do whatever he wants forever.

His constant TB12 self promotion while a Patriot was pathetic and now that he has gone full "Lebron" on social media as a Buc, Tompa is completely insufferable.

Posted by someone who bought Bucs season tix the day he signed in Tampa (but cancelled tix later because of covid and other reasons)

What do you want him to do? Continue the fake humbleness? Act like he isn't close to the most accomplished player in NFL history? Pretend that every player he faces has one foot in the HOF while talking about all his short comings? Pretend he's just one equal part of a 53 peice puzzle?

Frankly the way BB has run this team is kind of silly in many ways. It isn't fooling anyone. Do you think anyone buys that he thinks 2-14 teams are solid from top to bottom? Or that all the players on his team are just trying to compete for a job regardless if they are a 10 year veteran making top money at their position coming off an all pro year or any of 20 UDFAs they bring in any year? BB runs this team like a military high school team. That comes with benefits at times, but also a lot of hot air and incongruity where what he says clearly doesn't match the reality we all know exist. It isn't like it's fooling anyone either. This isn't to bash BB. This is to make clear for fans here who have fallen for this idea of 'The Patriot Way', that it isn't those things that made this team great. They were completely incidental to our success.

A lot of this comes from how we're taught about sportsmanship as children. It isn't like those lessons are wrong. You don't need to grow a huge ego. Trash talking isn't a nice thing to do. Act like your opponent is your equal regardless of the score at the end and show proper respect for how they played. All good lessons. But they are for children and are less about competition and more about how to work together as a group and learning to accept winning and losing in your life with dignity.

But when you start getting into a high enough level of sport everything changes slightly. You don't need to be a jerk just because someone isn't as good as you, but it's okay to loosen up and admit the truth about your level of ability. Particularly if it's true. You don't need to run at the mouth the way Ali did every 5 minutes, but you can also have fun with the idea of being a top level all time player. To me that is what Brady is doing. He's aware of his legacy and his position in NFL history, and he's trying to have fun with while also acknowledging it. But he isn't being a diva like some players who won't be named *cough A-A-ron cough*.

I don't think TB12 recognizes how lucky he has been injurywise or that his DNA likely has played a role in that. There have been plenty of amazing athletes who take good care of themselves. And some of them just break down through no fault of their own. To credit anything other than luck and good genes is folly.

Forum messed up and quoted SBC when I meant to quote Vector, and I don’t have the energy to fix it.

Yeah, it's all just random chance.

It pretty much is. What TB12 promotes is not special, it's not unique. Athletes break down. Some get lucky and avoid the injuries that accelerate the process.

It's not even close to "pretty much is".

Funny you mention that and I agree.

Brady on being rarely honest during press conferences:

“However, he admits what he says is very rarely how he feels.

“What I say and what I think are two different things,” Brady said. “I would say 90 percent of what I say is not what I’m thinking, which is challenging.”

Open, brazen belittlement of the team's success since he started, false cheating allegations, fake scandals, illegitimate punishments, anti-Patriots propaganda:

Tom's thinking, "F*ck you."

Same thing I've been thinking since replacing our real logo was first suggested in 1979

I will say I love Tom Brady, the football player. TB12, the brand manager, not as much.

This and he also needs to lay off of the botox.C90F1627-D83C-4B2F-BB6D-664F03B1C3EE.jpeg
Forehead paralysis like you read about in that interview. Another manifestation of his wife’s influence, like TB12.

I rarely agree with Shank, but this is one of the rare times, from today’s Globe.

Back in 85, it was surreal when the Patriots actually made it to a SB. Never thought it would happen as a kid. For the first half of my life, my realistic expectation as an obsessive fan each season was a winning record.

For the 2nd half of my life, my realistic expectation as a fan has been the Super Bowl. Period. I credit 2 men with the best 20 year stretch any fan in any sport has ever enjoyed.

Brady can do and say what he wants forever. Same with BB.

If Brady wins 6 rings with the Bucs, then and only then may I get a little irritated. But I hope he gets ring 8 this year.

Some of you are saltier than a mermaids taint over the GOAT. I don't get it.

Not only has his wife effected him, and changed him. Others around him like gronk Alex g, tony Robbins the media. And Hollywood celebs. I believe all had a hand convincing him. He was not appreciated and being taken advantage of somehow. They filled his head 24 7 with how great he was. Convincing him that he alone was the reason for the 6. Instead of keeping him grounded. It's sad.

Its not the ones that tell him he's great that drives him. Its the ones that doubt him that does.
