The NFL isn’t fooling around with this. Very strong incentives for players to get vaccinated, as unvaccinated players will not be able to have social, media, or marketing activities, can’t eat with teammates, and can’t leave team hotels or have visitors, among other things.

It will be interesting to see what if this will be in place for the regular season.

The NFL and NFLPA have just released their COVID protocols. Unvaccinated NFL players will have a much tougher time in 2021

The TLDR version is that no player is required to be vaccinated. There is just going to be massive costs to not be vaccinated in turns of daily testing, social activity restrictions enforced by significant fines, limitations on availability if a close contact of an infected individual and limitations on training.

Vaccinated players can treat 2021 operations as if it is 95% of the 2019 regular season.

This approach of no mandates but extremely high costs for non-vaccination is a likely pathway for many businesses and organizations that can't or won't mandate vaccination.

And from a football perspective, these rules, esp. the rules on quarantine/isolation after a close contact with an infected individual will be an extremely high incentive for any player that thinks they are plausibly replaceable to get vaccinated as the most important ability is availability.

teams have something new to chew on...........

being vaccinated will be the best way to keep Goodell out of who can't play any given week

There's already a fat thread on this, God, guns, aliens, abortion, and everything else nobody can agree on in the pub

I will attempt to keep this thread limited to football.

The other one is the mother of all train wrecks left alive for people to get it all out of their systems, until it will eventually require this:

Lol not a bad idea actually

The business case to not get a vaccine for anyone who does not have tens of millions in current year dead money is gone.
