I’d be stunned if Stidham made this team. Maybe PS if he’s eligible.

I can’t get past Belichick not playing Stidham last two games and McDaniels comments on Stidham where he wouldn’t say more than confirming Stidham does in fact play quarterback for the New England Patriots.

The pats haven't used a 4th QB at training camp in a long time. QB3 barely gets reps as it is. Stidham on the way out probably.

It makes me wonder if the Mac Jones era is closer than we might think. Hoyer knows the system a lot better than Cam or Stidham and so what better a mentor would there be for Mac?

I can't remember the exact quote, but when asked if he thought they should play Stidham in the last two games to see what he's got, didn't McDaniels say something akin to, "I think we see what he's got in practice." I'm usually try not to read too deeply into mandatory interview answers, but I have a hard time interpreting that as anything good.

It might be a case where Stidham would be a marginally better QB if he has to play, but as a QB#3 you might get more out of a guy who can mentor and run the scout team. Hoyer has shown some value as a scout team QB in past seasons (I want to say he got some shoutouts for mimicking Goff prior to SB53?).

Edit: Or maybe it was Mahomes prior to the AFCCG?
