NEW ARTICLE: Tom Brady Reacts To Buccaneers Scheduled Matchup With Patriots In October

OK, Francis

Does anyone remember Brady trotting out on the gridiron with a straight jacket on?

So if Brady wins.....it's single handedly with nobody helping..... but if he loses it's he's hamstrung.

What's the real story?
When the hell has he ever lost? I mean, obviously, he has lost individual games but (unlike Belichick) we are looking at a guy who has never once had a losing season or a prolonged period of losing.

You may be right. Belichick comes from the Parcells coaching tree. Parcells used to tell Phil Simms "you shut up, I'll do the coaching." I think BB is the same way - players play, coaches coach, GMs GM. However, I disagree that Bill is not going to regard this as an important game. Bill was probably sick of all the talk last year of how he is nothing without Tom. This is his chance to stick it to the naysayers.
Don't overstate the importance of the game. It is going to take more than 1 win on an early autumn night in New England for Belichick to "stick it to his naysayers."

Your point is taken at value since your posting reveals a back round uniquely experienced in the art of never winning.

I don't necessarily disagree but i'm unsure what he/they could be bitter about?
If you watch the Brady 6 you'll see that old man Tom has been bitter ever since Tom jnr couldn't get on the field when his HS team was terrible and the QB stunk. He was also bitter about Tom not being drafted by the 49rs - he took that personally.

Just my opinion.

I think the whole "Tom wants to be appreciated" thing is a big deal. I think as he grew, he was no longer the 6th rounder, crying in the Brady 6. He knew he was the GOAT and wanted to be a partner in the process, while Bill made it clear that he was the QB and that's it. Tom evolved and Bill didn't change how he coached him as he did, which rubbed him, and likely, his whole family, the wrong way. So there's bitterness and Dad is looking for a little payback. You hurt my boy, so now we must destroy you.

Meanwhile, Bill looks at this as an out of division, non-conference game and one of the least important, record wise, on the schedule.
I agree with everything here except your last sentence. This is not just another game for Bill. Given everything that happened last year with Tom winning the SB and throwing 40Tds and the Pats going 7-9, Bill would nothing more than to crush him in this game at home. It won't nearly even the score in the slightest but it will feel pretty darn good for one night.

The man holds a grudge against anyone/everyone who has wronged/doubted his son. I get it. He just can't take the high road.

Going after Goody on the SF radio show is one thing. Talking trash about Tom's ex boss and ex team in which he had a dynastic- 20 year run is petty.

Hell my dad is still annoyed at my HS hoops coach for having me guard this D-1 -bound player who was 5 inches taller than me. I had no chance.

That was 33 years ago lol.

Bill the TV character will say this is just another football game. Which is complete nonsense and even the real BB knows it. If the Pats get beaten decisively (which is very probable unless Cam shocks us all and becomes a good QB in 2021) he will be hearing it loudly from the fans there and from the media.

Brady's social media is just a disaster. Its just so awkward. Those stupid TB Times etc. You are a grown man, act like it. I felt this way whe he was here too. Brady reminds me way too much of Tom Cruise

I think it depends on how the team does in the 3 games prior.... if they are 2-1 or 3-0, they'll get some forgiveness for losing to the defending Super Bowl Champs...

But man.... if TB wins and it drops NE to 1-3 (or, worse yet, 0-4) then yeah, he'll be hearing it

I don't think Bill deals with the emotion on it at all. I don't think he's wired that way. Deep down, talking to Linda at home, he might give a modicum of chit, but when it comes to the big picture of how the 2021 season unfolds, he will coach it in the same unemotional manner he always does. The guy barely gets excited about winning Super Bowls. He's going to care about a non-conference game in week 4? I don't think he will. It's just the next team on the schedule, with the unique challenge of facing the defending Super Bowl champs with an aging super star GOAT QB. Everything else is media driven side show distraction.

I legit think that we can try to project how Bill might care about it, but I just don't see it. He will care about winning, to be sure. I don't think he's wired to allow himself an opportunity to even the score. Might get a fist pump after they win. Maybe.

I do expect him to be especially grumpy to the media leading up to it. "Just trying to get us ready for the opener... just trying to field the best team we can... just getting ready for Miami." Then the week of will be "We aren't focused on that. We are focused on getting ready for Tampa, the entire team."

He pretty much was asked to play with one hand tied behind his back and do it one yeat at a time. He had too much in the tank to waste in New England. What the Bucs had to offer was way more than what New England did. And yeah he had 6 rings with him when he left but he also left the Pats with 6 Lombardis in their trophy case. No not all his doing but I cant imagine anyone else doing it 6 out of 9 times. Tampa embraced his passion and greatness while New England gave up on it at the end. His dad's attitude in the end is completely understandable.
Poor f***ing baby.

It is hilarious how so many so-called Patriots fans are attacking Brady with the same nonsense we saw from all the Brady hating trolls these past 20 years.... it's just a matter of time before someone in here criticizes him for fathering a child out of wedlock....

I think Bill projects a tough exterior but inside he not only cares but is one of the most competitive coaches the NFL has ever seen. This game will matter to him a lot for many reasons I think.

Please don't misunderstand my point of view. He is 100% going to want to win the game. I agree that he is the most competitive coach ever. I just don't think he's going to get distracted by Brady lining up on the opposite sideline.

I fully expect Brady to try to annihilate the Pats. Stomp them like a bug. 450+ yards, 5 TDs, no picks kind of game. It'll be on Bill to devise a way to stop that from happening. That's the chess match that I expect to see. There's lots of "Brady know how to beat the Pats" talk right now. Bill knows Brady's weaknesses better than anyone in the league. It will be very intriguing.

Not attacking Brady.

Without the Patriots, would Brady have ever played in the NFL? Would he have been given a chance to shine with an organization that was ready to fly under BB?

It was a MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL relationship for the parties involved - and for Brady and his family, beneficial almost beyond imagination. Dating stars and models, living in super-mansions, becoming the GQ Brady with more money to spend on a yacht than most people will earn in their lifetimes.

Yeah, it ended a little sourly. So what? People should have a longer memory and a bit of gratitude when they're given the opportunity to make a life like that. Only a couple of short years ago, Brady and BB were hugging and crying, Brady and Kraft were kissing and crying.

His father behaving like this can only sour New England fans on his son. It does no good and is petulant immaturity.

I do think it will be a fascinating game on so many levels. The one aspect no one really seems to be talking about is how we score on that Tampa D? That is my biggest concern going into the game. I trust that Bill can devise a plan to at least slow Brady down but that Tampa D is ferocious.

Sounds like you had great parents.

It would be a little different if that coach got you a full scholarship to a great university, a choice job, and when everyone wanted you fired over a bad performance on Monday Night Sales Presentation, the coach tells everyone we are on to the next customer.
