Brady mentioned on WEEI why he was yelling at refs...

Inept's the right word, there's no evidence at all they're corrupt.

yes there is.

if they weren't corrupt they would have called the colts for the simulated snap count b.s. everyone knows you can't do that. IT was the only thing going on during those plays... they were kneel down plays.

maybe even an intelligent, straight ref would look for that sort of thing

but not these biased, scum-sucking dogs.

I heard once that a mob guy put a gun to Ed Hoculi's back and tried to make him throw a game...

Needless to say, Ed Hoculi didn't like that idea. He broke the man's arm in 12 places and gave his dog to Save a Pet.

Ed Hoculi doesn't give a ****.

Chuck Norris has nothing on him!

Consider that many sciences base their tenets on simple statistical significance.
What is troubling is the significant number of really badly 'mistaken' calls against the Patriots.
Why not a roughly equivalent number of blatantly bad calls AGAINST the Colts?
Hard to explain as simple incompetence.

Does anyone know how that works? I just can't see the Patriots getting reamed at the Razor no matter the crew.....

Oh really! If they have a novice rookie first year ref as their patsy for one the top NFL regular season games in the past 20 years on Sunday, you could see a special one-game referee hire from the Prison League to work game at N.E.

I heard that story too, it ended with Ed flying really, really fast around the Earth and reversing time so that.....oh wait that was a different story.

In any event, he's definitely the best ref and looks like a guy you don't want to mess with.

Had anybody even seen this loser referee before this game? Why wouldn't the NFL give a proven ref crew the biggest regular season game of the year?

The head of NFL officiating explained it last week on NFL Network. Only for playoff games are officiating crews selected based on merit, regular season games are selected by computer weeks in advance. There are restrictions such as a crew can't work more than two (I think) games each season for the same team which means they have to schedule quite far ahead of time. That's why a first-year ref had the game.

I have never even heard of this referree crew before the game. Who are these guys? Kind of odd that this crew was picked over a legit crews like Hocili.

One of Hochuli's notable explanations came during a 2007 regular season game between the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots. While nullifying a holding infraction, he announced through his microphone, "There was no foul on the play. It was not a hold. The defender was just overpowered."

Mike Carey is an excellent ref as well.

Does anybody else notice that when Carey explains a call he'll start out saying it so boldly, but then almost every single time completely tail off and say it like it has no importance. For some reason nobody else seems to see this, and it always seems weird and funny to me.

haha, yeah I remember that... that was hilarious.

Yeah, I think he dimed out Vrable on that one.

There's another black guy that's really good too but his name escapes me at the moment. I wouldn't mind seeing him officiating either.

Well the refs did help Vegas/Bookies make their money back from the beating they have been taking so far this year. The Pats failed to cover the spread for the 1st time all season. Although not by much. But I don't believe in conspiracies.

Who knows if they heard it? It's also loud as hell in that dome. You can have your feelings or intuition or whatever you want to call it, but nothing you said is evidence. It wouldn't at all be impossible for an NFL official to be on the take, but I also see a lot of other games called poorly, and I can explain a poorly-called game without needing to resort to blaming bribery.

There aren't enough calls in the course of a game for that argument to be statistically significant. Some games will have few bad calls, some will have bad calls for both teams, some will have more bad calls for one team than the other. We were on the short end of the stick, but speculation about the poor calls being intentional is nothing but speculation.
