How about a hybrid throwback logo? Pat, but just his head.

I know some of you guys are anxious to see Pat out there again on our helmets, but I think it's a terrible graphic for a helmet logo. Way too complex to the point of being impossible to distinguish at a distance if you don't already know what that is.

Pat's head, on the other hand, just the head, face and tricorn, would be sufficiently distinctive to be an interesting logo, and would be a callback to the past without giving casual fans no idea whatsoever who that team in red is

So what do you think about just Pat's head, with the red tricorn hat, as a callback to Pat history without the graphic confusion and indistinctness? I think it would turn a poor, confusing graphic into one of the better throwback logos, and very distinctively Patriot.

I actually really like the "flying elvis", and would prefer to keep it. I know some people hate it, but I think it's very sleek and has been the logo for the greatest 25+ years in team history. Perhaps it's because it's basically been the logo for the entire time I've been a Pats fan (started watching around the time of Bledsoe's rookie season), but I will always love it.

However, as I stated in another thread, I could certainly get on board with a uniform change.

I too like the flying Elvis logo. However, the helmet color needs to change, especially since we ditched the gray stripe on the shoulder pad.

Not arguing for getting rid of the Flying evils. Just making Pat a bit more identifiable from the stands for throwback nights

I know I'm very much in the minority, but I really don't see the attraction some people have to Pat the Patriot, other than a sentimental attachment. As a logo, I think it's pretty ugly if I'm being honest. I much prefer the Flying Elvis, but each to their own.

But I'd like to see a decent render of what you suggest.

I hate to say it but Pat Patriot could use some updating the fact he is clearly white and a Patriot I think would rub people the wrong way in this current climate. Maybe make his face red white and blue or just Blue something non racial.
I wouldn’t be shocked in the next 10 years Patriots change their entire team name.

I get what you're saying, but it's also kind of sad that just having a white face and being a Patriot would rub anyone the wrong way. I mean there comes a point where it's just a little ridiculous.

Any logos with an actual person's face seems weird to me, and the more details in the face, the weirder. I just don't see any point of it besides tradition, and that's not even touching on the potential cultural issues.

I'm offended.

It's not hard to imagine a world that people are offended by the word "patriot". Sad, but not hard. I don't think there's any way the Kraft family would cave in to this.

Just call every team, the [City/Region] Football Team. Actually, just let a corporate sponsor for the season dictate the name. The New England Cialis has an interesting ring to it. And then switch to the red/whites...even if I had no real issue with the 2000s dynasty uniforms.

This is how I feel. When you zoom in on Pat Patriot's face, it's a bit unsettling. In the context of sports logos in 2021, it's hyperrealistic.

Tricorn hat, maybe with NE in place of number. True throwback to an era I never witnessed & would thus get a kick out of seeing!

That would be a severe overreaction. Not every patriot is a Maga hat wearing ignorant clown with an unforked family tree. To suggests otherwise heaps a great deal of disrespect on a lot of everyday Americans who love their country.

I get sick of the stereotyping of conservatives sometimes, since it's largely unjust and based in edge cases, but that's not even the point this time, Conservatives, protest otherwise how they may, have no particular monopoly on patriotism

There were a lot of self-described patriotic Americans who were furious at the Capitol riot for the tarnishing of what America stands for.

Besides, Flelvis is pretty white too.

BTW if you want a face to model Pat after for a redraw, I have a modest suggestion

There's your Pat the Patriot if you want him
