No they didn’t. He looked bad from day 1 except for about a quarter and a half against a defense that was playing like the worst defense in league history.

I don’t accept he will be the starter because he sucks, because belichick is paying him like a backup and because belichick publicly said through reporters that he is not dine at QB and is actively pursuing starters.
I’d be a bit shocked to see Cam here as starter this year or on the roster at all after his “performance “ last year. The guy was a great teammate, good leader worked well with younger players.....but he put up some of the worst QB statistics in the history of the league!!! His mechanics are horrific due to continuing shoulder issues. His field vision and piss poor decision making is what bothers me the most. This led to ridiculous number of batted down balls, INT, and he took so many unnecessary sacks (a few times losing the game because he couldn’t get rid of ball). His ability to run is still hindered by the foot surgery....yes he scored a record number of QB TDs from goal line....but not because of SPEED like he had before injuries. All and all I’d rather see them bring in a QB who at least can make the throws (even in short range Cam was terrible) make good and QUICK decisions and limit costly mistakes. Hoping BB doesn’t make same mistake twice...especially after reloading offense a bit

Why would you think any of that would improve after all these years? It’s what he sucks at.
By the way the only way he gets any zip on the ball anymore is with the big wind up and long delivery. It’s not good.
His throwing mechanics are awful....I’m not seeing rocket arm....maybe a .22 at best

Aaahhhhh!!!!! NEVER EVER mention the name Mohammed Sanu ever again in New England!!!!!!!!!

Why is Harry's name being mentioned? Hopefully he gets the boot
Going by usual BB timeline with WR draft picks....this is his last year to prove it or be shown the door....

I look at bourne similar to meyers as a complementary Player. He has great effort, reasonable salary, is physical and competitive. I like what I saw from him. He should be a solid number 3/4 given agholer meyers and edelman. And he comes from a heavy run offense so i like it.
Only problem is we don’t need another 3-4 ....we need a true elite Number 1!!!! Still waiting

The thing is Meyers or Agholor might not be a "Number 1" but as long as they produce I am completely fine. We have two Number 1 TE's to me to attack the middle and a good run game. What we need complementary are a deep threat which we now have and receivers like Bourne and Meyers who can line up in different spots. I think a true Number 1 wouldn't be as usefull here than with other teams. We will be committed to the run i guess and can create mismatches with our TE/slot WR. Go deep every now and then.

Edelman is unfortunately coming to the end of career pretty quickly. Probably greatest slot receiver in history of game....one of if not the greatest WR in Pats history....but he’s banged up (tough as nails SOB).....so don’t expect to see him “going deep” or stretching the field at this stage of his career....I’ll just be happy to see him on field for more consistently next year
I'm hopeful, but I think even without Edelman we have a much improved offense.

Wasn't last season his year to prove it? How many years does he get to prove what he had proved? He has proven he doesn't have it. Give him the boot, stop wasting time.

Cam was doing OK before he got COVID. Frankly I suspect he had some lingering afteraffects that he soldiered through because there was no one on the roster to replace him. He's not gonna get the long range accuracy he never had, but he might get back some of his strength and decisiveness with several months to recover from the aftereffects that COVID can inflict. Especially the heart and lung stuff which can be NASTY for some people and would make a huge difference when competing at the highest level.

The contract we have Cam under isn't unfriendly to the idea of being a transitional QB if we draft our starter this year. It's only a little more than Jacoby Brissett made last year. He's basically being paid like a bottom 5 starter, which is what he was last year.

Gronk: what is 69.

too many tweets to link, but suffice to say this kid is pumped to be here

You would be pumped to be here too, if you were offered more money than you ever thought somebody like you deserved to be offered as a UFA...

That's the problem, however: he's not being paid as a 3/4, he's being paid as a #2...And even worse, Agholor's being paid as a #1...

Did you notice the words "younger" and "healthy"?

A younger & healthy Sanu still wasn't worth what Bourne's collecting now.

Welker and Edelman don't get open because they out run or are more physical they got open because of savvy route running.

Which is what bourne supposedly is good at. Not every receiver needs to be a run deep go get the ball guy

I figured that Meyers was our Slot of the Future...?

Or does he and/or Bourne find themselves outside the hashmarks more often than any of us originally ass-umed?

Isn't his this years cap Hit like 3/4 M. ?also we tried several times to get him and 49ers wanted to keep him. I think that is a good sign.

I'm not too sure how Meyers and Bourne's play style differs. I do think meyers will be a big part of the offense next year.

Galliday is worth that money. Watch him play, he takes over games.

Fuller obviously is huge injury risk but his talent level is insane, and we need a game changer like that to defeat a team like KC
Will Fuller is the key to beating KC, got it.

Just checking that you are aware that the initial reporting of 3/22.5M was inaccurate. It's 3/15M.

You still have to get the ball to an open receiver even if the defense sucks. He had a much better throwing motion the first 2 games. Then it all fell apart on him. I'm not sure why, maybe lack of rotation in his shoulder from an injury. But he was accurate at most levels of the field those first couple of games.

You could see he stopped throwing from the hip after that. He wasn't getting the same rotational torque from his body. When he throws the football like a baseball, his accuracy sucks. Whereas someone like Mahommes excels at that.
