It's not a total and complete pipe dream he returns.

Pats have ~$60m in cap space and have clearly shown they are ok paying him $14m.

Keeping Thuney would low key be another smoke signal for me that they might seriously break the streak and use future assets to trade up for a QB in the draft. Who is the best friend of an inexperienced QB ? A dominant OL.

Well, they were ok spending that last year. Wes Weller will remind you that what they’re willing to spend depends on what the market looks like that year... and this isn’t a great year to be a FA guard.
Exactly.

My thoughts exactly.

If he stays, regardless who they sign/draft in 2021 at WR the NEP will run the football and do it well- again.

That’s a interesting take.

Wynn
Thuney
Onwenu
Brown
Mason

Who plays center? Of that group, it'd have to be Thuney or Mason, right?

Re-sign Andrews or another true C? Then who's out, because you've got 6 starters. (And Herron + Cajuste).

I can't see them trading Wynn with Brown on a 1-year deal. LTs matter.

I maybe wrong but the Zeitler deal is less than expected so maybe the Thuney camp are exploring an extension first with the Pats.......great news if correct.

Thuney would play Center, he played the position last year and played it well. Our interior line would be sick and nasty!!!!

Could we keep 6 starters? I'm sure every single year we lose at least 1 O line starter for multiple games if not the year.

I think allocating that much spending to OL isn't ideal but as luuked said a QB on a rookie deal would help. Won't be upset that he stays.

Then another part of me says LG Onwenu, C Thuney & RT Brown could be All-Pro caliber players. Wynn & Mason as your 4th & 5th OL would be insane. 2017 Eagles-esque.

That Zietler deal is a fantastic deal for the Ravens

In that group i can play center .. i just sneak down, hand it to qb or rb and run for my life

Don't get me wrong, I want Thuney to stay. In addition to his versatility, he's always on the field. That matters a ton.

If BB is building from the trenches out, count me in - but that also means we should see some serious DL additions in the next couple of days, because our DL right now is non-existent.

What if the Patriots sign Thuney with BB intent on running the ball against the smaller defensive players. Signing Thuney versus a new QB?

Or - unpopular as it may be - they are in for some nasty mauling w Cam

Might be « fun » to watch the board melt down (though I’m hoping -real fun- as well).
Yeah I'm waiting to see when the first "do something" meme appears.

I think someone already put it up as a joke in another thread

It can be enjoyable either way when you consider our season could still very easily be good or bad regardless of how "fun" this FA period is.
