Player Signing Cam newton resigned 1 year deal

I really wonder if he had COVID brain, fogginess and difficulty of concentrating without actively knowing it. We here, were very excited about him after the first three games. And then he was awful after returning from COVID. I’m not ready to write him off.

Expected. Have position covered before FA and keep options opened .. still a long way to Sept..

Like very much this happened at this time.

I agree. I said it a couple times towards the end of the season that I wouldn't be shocked about Cam being back.

There clearly was a disconnect between what he was able to do in practice and what happened on Sundays. The fans are only privy to Sundays while the staff sees the players essentially every day.

They now have one vet QB option on the roster and if something else happens that makes eg. Jimmy available down the line there is nothing stopping them from making a move.

It also means that depending on how the draft falls taking a QB early is definitely on the table.

I dont care that it is an unpopular opinion but unless the deal is expensive I like it.

Woohoo !! We just resigned the WORST starting QB in the NFL. Belichick giveth (great trade for Trent Brown) and taketh away (signs the worst starting QB in football).

It’s gonna be one ****ED UP offseason.

Unlike 99% of people here id be fine going into the season with Cam as starter (esp. in combo with new good rookie).
Top D, top OL, dominant running game, top ST, top complementary football could go a long way - plenty to enjoy.

Of course this could be all just a set up to please @BaconGrundleCandy and draft Lance ;)

Will you still be fine when we suck again and still have no quarterback solution a year from now?

They'll draft some bum in the 4th round and press pause on the rebuild for a second year.

You better upgrade your skill position players. Can’t bring back the unit.

I don't think it's likely, but I'm willing to entertain the idea that 9 months removed from COVID, more months than that removed from his CAR injuries, a full offseason in the NE system, and at least a few much better weapons around him make Cam look a little more like he did in the first few weeks of 2020 and less like the other guy. They can win games with the Cam who showed up against Seattle. Especially with Brown pushing the pile now...

Nunchucks laughed at this comment. Nunchucks is a science denier.

Run it back, LFG! Nice signing BB. Hopefully Cam won’t have to carry the entire offense on his shoulders and legs this go around.
