That only applies for players whose contracts expire (because the contracts don't officially expire until the start of free agency). Players who are cut can sign anytime since they're not under contract anywhereThus making him a free agent. And I thought you couldn't sign free agents until free agency begins.

Milano is more a cover/speed linebacker, Van noy plays alot of different roles. Never saw Milano as a fit on the Pats D personally. Between the two Van Noy fits the mold alot better for usOK, my bad ....I just saw that both were classed as OLB's so assumed they would be similar players I guess I did not look far enough into the difference.
