All this stuff coming out after the game makes me so happy. Just like that McCoy article. I'll always love the Patriots, but part me of is glad that Brady went to another team and dominated.

Now I see people all over the internet changing their tune on Brady after all these years of hating. Even a few of my friends who have disliked him for years and years were texting me after the Super Bowl in complete awe. Some even rooting for him these entire playoffs just because they're amazed he's doing what he is at his age, and they want to say they experienced it live.

Exactly. If Brady had retired in New England, we never would have gotten the cosmic justice of what happened these last two months, an almost impossible to believe wrecking ball smashing every last wisp of opposition.

I wonder if their thinking will be along the lines of “the offense and Brady looked great despite no off-season, and Evans and Godwin dealing with injuries throughout the year. Let’s keep them together now that they have a full off-season to be even better.”

I wish Brady had retired a Patriot. But now that we know what we know about the behind the scenes stuff going back to 2017 that was simply not in the cards. Hell Tom Sr called it years ago when he said the breakup would be ugly. So all that being said this is the second best outcome I could imagine.

Equally important is that the Bucs are SB champs instead of the Chiefs. If it was any other team in the NFC in the SB game, Chiefs would almost assuredly have won.

I try and like Mahomes, Reid, and Kelce, but the amount of adulation they get is insufferable. Many in media were already starting to say that Mahomes > Brady, Reid>BB, and Kelce>Gronk. And KC is a dynasty that will win 5 or more SB.

I’m still annoyed at the media - if Mahomes beat Brady it would be all we are hearing. Brady just destroyed the best QB right now and some media outlet said it is a toss up between who is a better player right now between Brady and Dak! Mike Florio tweeted today he was carried by the defense? The bloke score 30 PPG in the playoffs!
Mahomes is great but he has not been good in SBs - Brady threw for 280 yds and a TD and no INTs against the 2007 giants and people still blame him for the loss. It’s a bit ridiculous

I definitely think they get Godwin back.
He'll only be back on a franchise tag. No way they pay both him and Evans elite WR1 money long term which is 15-20 million per year.

For me, I prefer they let him go as other players can make up all of his production.

AB can be had for maybe 5 million.

Amendola is a free agent, plays a very similar game, and at 36 could play for 2 or 3 million.

Taylor Johnson showed flashes and could take the 2nd year leap.

And I prefer they keep their TEs together.
OJ Howard showed the potential to be a younger Gronk. But he can't seem to stay on the field.
Thus, you keep Brate and lower his salary to 4-5 million.
Then you have Gronk, who stayed behind to block a lot this past year. With the improvement in the offensive chemistry, I think they'll be able to run him out to catch more.

Brady said in December that the 2021 team would be a lot better, according to a report.

thats been one of the fun things for me, even some deranged Colts and Jets fans have changed their attitude towards Brady

But KC fans hate him with white hot burning hatred.
They denigrate Tom's greatness not realizing that some mediocre QB (according to them) killed their SB dreams not once, but TWICE.
Maybe they'll lobby the NFL Competition Committee to change the rules so that a pass thrown while the QB is flying parallel to the field automatically counts as complete.

The Bucs could be one of the most talented superbowl champs to return the following year.

  • all 5 OL returning
  • all 6 DBs under 25 & returning
  • White’s third year at MLB
  • likely upgrade at receiving RB
  • offseason to mix offensive philosophies (saw that towards end of the season)
Bucs finished 8-0 with more than 33 PPG & Tom with 8.7 YPA. Throw in the fact as you mentioned that they could go all in similar to the Saints & they have a chance to have an elite offense & defense. Absurd.

Plus...
-Much weakened Saints as their main in-division rival, with Panthers and Falcons still in rebuilds
-Weaker schedule, with matchups vs. the entire NFC Least

The factor against them is the fat & happy champion mindset. I think that Brady's leadership will head that off, though.

Bovada odds regarding Godwin & AB:

Even right here on this forum, our very own troll @TommyBrady12 bent the knee & kissed the ring of the GOAT - Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr.

He was even 1st in line for the Brady lube job to the point he had to go to the dentist for a hair cut. Lmao.

I don't see Godwin or Fournette resigning since the money should be prioritized on keeping Lavonte David and Shaq Barrett. With JJ Watt and presumably Von Miller being available makes things all the more interesting if Shaq Barrett wants to break the bank and leave.

AB and Gronk likely return, and the Bucs have some young up and coming WRs for depth.

OJ Howard coming back from his achilles injury is going to be an underrated "addition". He is an elite blocker and catcher and one of the closest things to a real TE like Gronk or Kittle (Kelce can't block).

Howard was also their best YAC guy before injury.

I remember us Patriots fans lusting after Howard as the Gronk replacement. Bummer.

Brady and the Bucs are in the process of forming the first outright super team since the 2013 Broncos (yes I remember how that ended for them) and meanwhile we’re probably gonna have another year of the Cam experience.
