Amendola apparently bitter about time in New England:

Y'all be hating on Bill didn't b*tch when the championship banners were getting raised and champagne was flowing. Some short memories around here.

You're soon finding out that everyone loves Brady and everyone hates BB. And while they were married, noone spewed trash about BB. Now they they are divorced and everyone has to pick a side (you always have to pick a side in a divorce) they are all picking Brady. And BB is going to get trashed by everyone one by one. Gronk and DA are just the start. They'll start coming out of the woodwork now. And Brady himself will deliver the final deathknell after BB blows up badly for another season.
My god you hate BB. Every. Single. Post.

Agree - a lot of players felt betrayed. And no evidence Bill ever addressed it with the team. Some players moved on from it, some did not.

Considering the dude's performance post 2017........it's never exactly clear why anyone thinks he would have been a major defensive upgrade.

Has anyone ever considered he would be toast plus and was happy because he did get a decent contract?

As someone already pointed out, Amendola does being up an interesting point and makes me think about it. When you have a coach who is GM how do you as a player feel when there's no separation of what your coach thinks of you vs the business side of creating a team. I think it can get complicated for sure.

Tbh I don't think it's the worst thing for Bill to take a small step back a bit from buying all the groceries. He should have some input but the reason why he is a stone cold hard lock for Canton is as a head coach. Not as a team builder. Losing Coach Bill would be a total catastrophe in every possible way but losing GM Bill? Eh. They'll still survive and thrive.
Maybe. But all this is hard to decide on such a small window. They tried like what the rams are trying now - trading away picks to get WRs etc to help the team now - cooks for e.g . It didn't pan out.Or maybe it did - he had revis, browner ,lafell etc all for a short window to win a championship. They aren't amazing offensive players so people forget the moves. At the same time , he has built and rebuilt the team after 2009 -over 20 yrs , so he isn't as terrible as its made out to be. He never has had marquee players other than maybe Brady . He knew what he had with the QB and maximized by spreading the wealth across the team elsewhere .. He has had a gameplan to build and sustain teams which wont involve likely some 3-4 superstars . Even 2007 was very cheap relatively - welker, moss for a 4th rounder etc werent expensive. Maybe that plan is outdated or not working now but he hasnt sucked as a GM. But he has the ability to change the approach when needed so maybe we need to wait and see. He needs to hit on his draft picks and unfortunately that one Harry pick is making everything look worse for last 20 yrs than it has been.
As an example, Andy Reid is a coach/gm too AFAIK. When teams win , its easy to forget that. But he also was responsible for the whole idiot TO fiasco as well.

Danny was the ultimate team player and somehow he's getting blamed for it because he got tired of taking ridiculous salary reductions? Some people saying they were justified because of snap %? I don't think he should be talking to the media, or that anyone should really, but perhaps Bill made his bed and now he has to lie in it.
People forget the backlash BB received when milloy was cut. This nothing new to him. Bed or whatever it is made. The pats have survived because of this business minded approach. Lets imagine pats paid amendola the miami money. Who wouldve they wouldve had to cut ?

Not everyone. it is the flavor of the season. The same media which kept saying brady is a system QB is coming out and saying BB sucked. Once the narrative keeps going they will stick with it. No one really making any honest assesments. I mean 7 weeks ago it was all bruce arian's fault and he wasnt any BB. Now its all brady and no bb and bruce arians allows brady to coach. Media narrative drives these athletes to say things .Gladly Brady hasnt muddied himself in the muck. And not everyone hates on BB. Listen to what rodney says about the whole debate

One of Bill's recent head scratching moves was not resigning Danny after he was money in the AFCCG vs the Jags. Him and Brady had chemistry from day one and he was not expensive to resign.

Yup I remember that. And the first game without him was the 31-0 game in Buffalo. The broadcast sounded so gleeful that big bad Bill was getting his. They even had a panel of ex Patriots and other players speaking out against BB like Sam Gash and even Bledsoe that played throughout the broadcast finger wagging at Bill that he didn't treat his players right or something.

Got really obnoxious fast....and to me this is starting to go in the same direction tbh. I'm sure DA's intention wasn't to come across as anti-BB but that's the way the media will portray it.

Johnson Bademosi and Eric Rowe were definitely better options in that game. Excellent point.

DA's every intention was that.

He didn't have to dominate that game.

He just needed to make one or two plays on third down that Richards, Bademosi, Rowe and Chung obviously couldn't. They were brutal on third down and the Eagles only punted once in that game. He was the team's best tackling corner so I'm sure two third down plays could have changed a score to a punt and that would have made all the difference. I don't think that was too much to expect. The benching was a total blunder in every way it could be. And I think that was the beginning of the end of Brady and Gronk here in NE.

Wouldn't have bothered me as much if it was a regular season game but a Super Bowl is not the time to screw around. There's no guarantee you'll ever make a Super Bowl again.

Love me some Bill but that decision was one of two historic blunders (Spygate being the other) that really hurt his team at the time and still is.

What a baby. The whole team mantra started nearly 20 years ago when they all run out of that tunnel together. It's what BB is known for. You take slightly less money so he can build a good team that wins.

One person comes to mind - Ted Washington. He was one of the first people in the BB era to come, win, and leave for a big contract with a bad team. And you know what? Fans were fine with that. He got his ring now go chase that paper. He had every right to do that just as Amendola had.

Piling on the "bash BB train" is getting ridiculous.

They were? Wow. Things were really different back then. Ever since I’ve been here, most of the fans have repeatedly bashed players for leaving for more money.

Amendola acting like there were a bunch of teams out there waving huge multi year contracts at him when he took those pay cuts lol. He was a good player but he was always hurt. He didn't take those paycuts as a favor to BB, he took them because he didn't think he could do any better in the open market. He had a good career, now just move on and stop being salty that BB didn't want to pay you full time receiver money for part time production.
