Other than $ why would UFA choose NE over other suitors?

Not expecting anyone to take less than market value. But if 4 teams are offering similar market value deals, how will NE fare as one of the 4 if the others are LA, SF, Miami?

Its ironic that when NE was a preferred destination we had little cap room to spend

Since the Rams have negative cap space they will not be any concern. The 49ers have under $10M for cap space which will all be needed for draft picks and cap charges during camp and the season, so they might bid on a couple of guys, but are not of any concern. The Dolphins have $20M of cap space so they could be involved in 1/3 of the deals the Patriots are involved in. Overall there will be lots of players and very few bidders.

That was 10 years ago...Ask Martysaurus Bennett's brother what he thinks of Bill...

Michael Bennett hates every place he played. Players are not silly, they are not going to listen to haters and walk away from a contract to sit at home.

The next 45 days until free agency begins is going to be an agonizingly painful eternity for this forum.
I'm thinking 47 days
Bill will want to monitor the landscape for 48 hrs before sifting through the leftover bin.

Speaking of sports writers, I think Curran is on a personal mission to take Bill out.
He lost all objectivity by the start of 2019 season.

Bill had a record number of opt outs with Hightower and Chung we we win at least 2 more Games.
This team will be a force next season I espect BB to take a more hands on approach to everything next season.
His reputation his legacy is being questioned.
This team will rise.
HT, Chung and Cannon were all on the decline. Adrian Philips and Onwenu were fine replacements. In fact, the drafting of Dugger really made Chung expendable. Cannon could come back at RT, but would Onewnu be better inside or outside when someone has to replace Thuney? I really doubt they were the deciding factor between a 7-9 season and a 9-7 season. The other opt outs aren't even mentioning as being a factor. And it wouldn't mattered because they still weren't not making the playoffs.

Regarding being a force next season, that's asking a lot. They have gigantic holes at the skill position of QB, WR and TE along with the front 7 needing an overhaul. And they are arguably the worst in the league at all of those areas. At least one of these areas needs to be addressed via FA or draft. Bill needs to take a break on DB's.

As far as his reputation is concerned, it's naïve to think he "doesn't care" as that's what the media "thinks" his persona is. In fact, if he didn't care, he wouldn't have been a HC in the NFL for very long. You bet he wants to shut most of us up and put together another good team without Tom Brady. But that's not going to be easy. The most recent example is Greg Popovich. He was regarded as one of the best Coaches, but has been irrelevant without Duncan and the rest of the core. His teams after Duncan were just like before Duncan arrived. Bill's main objective is to find that Franchise QB.

So?

SO?

SO?!?

Meritocracy is Dead at One Patriot Place.

It's no longer What you know there, it's Whom you know.
Let me know when wins and losses are impacted then i'll care.

Probably isn't going to want to go somewhere that effectively has no quarterback. Doubt Bill is paying his price tag -- he's going to be paid like a #1

I don’t know. Something tells me he would have loved playing in Vegas. He’s no stranger to playing games there.

He scares me I think he played in a very friendly WR system he is catching passes from the Goat and he has Evans across to draw off the best defender.
I only want him if it’s reasonable and it won’t be.

I want Golladay who I’m sure has heard the worst about us, Will Fuller who already knows the principles of our offense and the terminology.
Corey Davis who is sneaky good.
Give me one of those 3 over Godwin who I feel won’t earn the giant contract he is going to receive.

yes...unfortunately they do. fat chicks with thongs, twerking, is big out here.... pun intended.
Some guys have it made.

Did you hear that the female NFL referee is doing Super Bowl 55?

The officiating cant help but improve. Women do the best job telling Men what they did wrong.

Bingo.

Nothing else happens - NOTHING - unless and until Bill fixes the QB position, ASAP...and No that does not include re-signing Scam to anything more than a one-year, non-guaranteed, vet-minimum contract to compete for the #3 with Stid & Jake Dolegala...Good WRs & TEs will Not sign here if there isn't a better - Much better - QB in the building.
Jimmy

I dont like it, but thats what will happen. Probably a trade too.

Why would FAs sign with 1-15 teams, or 2-14, 3-13, or 4-12 teams ? But guess what they do.

Pats have gone 19-13 the last 2 years, it’s not like they are coming off of two straight 4-12 seasons. Depending on what they do in the offseason, they could be a playoff contender as early as the 2021 season.

The Browns were 6-10 in 2019, not only made the playoffs in 2020, they won a playoff game. Colts were 7-9 in 2019, 11-5 in 2020 and made the playoffs. Dolphins were 5-11 in 2019, finished 10-6 and just missed out on the playoffs. There have been a bunch of turnarounds that happened because good players went to bad teams.

the patriots won more games with a QB that threw twice as many ints as TD's as some teams with actual QB play.

The patriots have a ton of money, a decent defense, and a coach that's been to more superbowls then anyone else.

folks need to stop acting like the shine is off on the patriots. The only reason stafford nixed the pats as an option is because of patricia.
