I really can't believe people are still managing the stages of grief with Brady's departure almost a year later

The writing was on the wall, it was not shocking on any level that he moved on.. This team was depleted of talent and was not going back to a SB within the small window Brady had left in his career, and he and BB were at a point where it was time to divorce

The Pats weren't going to win the SB with or without Brady. We all know that. Keeping him and letting him finish as a Patriot was the right thing to do.

Go look up my post from back in offseason, Brady didnt deserve the complete lack of talent that BB left him with this year. He would have wasted away his last few years here with JAGs at skill positions, providing fuel for the haters and max kellermans of the world to say he has fallen off a cliff and is a shell of his former self...

Hes in a much better place now and having newfound success, you can see the genuine excitement and joy in his face all the time... Something that he didnt have at all last year. I remember posting that even after WINS last year, Brady looked completely miserable... That was what convinced me that he was gone, he just looked like someone that had enough and was just tired of the status quo here

He's a legend and a New England hero.. he deserves all the success he has had, including his success right now with Tampa and I'm ecstatic for him!

When Max Kellerman can give credit and has better takes than Pats fans. Stupid ass conclusion and you know it. No way they get to the NFCCG without him and the Pats’ 3-headed QB monster combined can’t even begin to tug on Brady’s cape.

So, BB should have bet against all data and history that says that QB's in the 40's fall off a cliff and fast? What about going against his own philosophy of getting rid of a player a year early rather than a year late. What Brady is doing at his age is unprecedented and it's easy with hindsight to look back and say BB should have known Brady was going to keep playing at a high level.

And, as I said in another thread, with what money were they going to pay Brady? And who was he going to be throwing to if he decided to play with the Pats this past season? I'll hang up and listen.

No he didn't.

When the team started to send the message they were looking to the future he stopped showing up to OTAs and working with WRs, complaining to Jim Gray, complaining to the media, saying his was miserable, etc.

Don't even say he handled it well. He didn't.

I think that was directly related to BB not giving him the fair contract that he wanted, which if i remember was around 2 years at $25 mill a year. Belichick didn't think he was worth that and wanted to start the rebuild. I don't blame him for that and I certainly don't blame Brady for flipping BB the bird for giving him a bunch of highschool JAGs for offensive skill positions at the tail end of his career

Neither party handled it perfectly, which is usually how it works in these types of situations where a divorce is inevitable.

The Pats are better off because now BB can finally hit his reset button and do the rebuild he's been wanting to do, but has had resistance from Kraft, etc because that rebuild involved getting rid of Brady.

Brady is better off because he got to hit FA and pick his own team.. and he picked a team that he now has in the SB, after throwing 40 TDs in the regular season. He has won 3 straight road playoff games against top 10 defenses, 2 of those games were against future hall of fame QBs in Brees and Rodgers

If Brady manages to beat the Chiefs and win a 7th ring, there arent even words that can justly describe the level it will catapult his already absurd legacy even more

I was hoping that Bill and Brady would have retired together. That before 2019, he would sign Brady to a contract that would have allow Brady to play in NE until he is 45. That would have put Bill at 70 and like that they could have retired together. Let the task of rebuilding to someone else so we could close that book and start a new one fresh.

For many of us, we read an amazing book but the end stank which left a bad taste and a bad feeling.

That part is fine. I have no qualms with Tom leaving. He wanted out and the NEP didn't want him.

I find it funny and sort of ironic that many of the same people who were so against tanking “because no win is meaningless,” are talking themselves into separating from Brady “because there was no shot to win the Super Bowl this year.” So, then, it was a meaningless year? Or was it a mistake to cut Brady loose and miss out on meaningful wins? Which one is it? Because you can’t have it both ways.

Again, I'm sure Brady has been a positive influence for the Bucs, but he is very low on the list of reasons why the Bucs' defense is great.

We all agree bringing in a proven winner + veteran leader is good for a team. But it doesn't make bad players great. It typically enhances the play of star players at times.

For example, it's much more motivating to play your ass off when Brady throws a pick because you want to help bail the guy out. Just like when the QB bails out the defense after they mess up.

But bad players aren't going to stuff a guy like Rodgers after two late picks. It still takes talent. Talent the Bucs have been building before Brady was there.

My friend is implying even mediocre defensive players turn great because of Tom.

The 2020 Bucs D has the same talent than the 2019 D, yet in 2019 they were #28 in points allowed (28.1) and in 2020 #8 (22.2), a full TD/game. The #1 reason: Tom Brady.

Please don't tell me Brady didn't make the D better in the field by simply having better QB play and not putting them in difficult situations. They all recognize it.

And the Bucs are #1 in NFL for points scored off turnovers. Brady made the entire team better and it wasn't just because of leadership skills. He gave the D a better chance to bend but not break by giving them longer fields to defend and rewarded their TOs by scoring off them.

Brady took the 7-9 Suckaneers to a SB his 1st year with them. He's already a God in TB regardless of the outcome in 2 weeks. He did this despite having lousy coaching (per most on this forum, both supporters and haters).

That's because Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr. don't need to stinking coaching.

is this the wrong place for me to say watching Ray Bourque leave the Bruins stung more.......and I rooted way harder for him to win a Cup elsewhere than I am now rooting for TB to win*?

You realize football is played by actual human beings, right? Leadership and belief is real. Tampa isn't the first team defense to talk about how a great QB and leader changes their confidence and the way they play. They know they always have a shot if they give their QB a chance, whereas playing with a lousy QB they feel they need to win the game on defense and it effects them negatively. Brady just takes it to another stratosphere. Hell, it's clear he even effects other teams players and coaching decisions...

He does but is incredibly salty. Not worth a response when people act like that, tbh. I don’t deal with purposeful obtuseness.
