Time for a New Offensive Coordinator

I hope Steve is never the coach. McD has more tenure than Mayo and Mayo is really hard to judge given how kooky our D coaching et up is.

Tenure means nothing. Steve and Mayo did a good job with a depleted defense this year.

Crap. Looks like we’re stuck with him.

I guess another year of “run up the middle into a wall” on first and 10, Jet-sweep or failed screen on second and 10. And bombs away down the field on third and 10 hoping for a miracle aka a WR catch downfield from our motley crew called WRs

Sometimes I wonder what planet you're on. You put more faith in Steve Belichick than Josh McDaniels?!?! It's almost as though accomplishments and experience mean nothing anymore.

Josh has 3 rings. I hoped Lurie saw that. Still, what dept has Steve worked on that hasn't been a good job ? Seems like this guy has done a nice job with safeties and then the defense. Do you also hate Kyle Shanahan for no reason because of his last name? Maybe redirect your hate to guys who had no business being here like Fisch or Caley.

I'm more concerned with the link to more crappy drafts, no player development, and zero use of tight ends in the scheme. We're going in a downhill direction and need a new OC.

Is Kyle Shanahan good? Wins 40% of his games.

He was also an offensive coordinator for a full 10 years before he became a head coach. & here's the biggest part: he was never an assistant coach for his father. Instead, he was always working under someone else at these places: Tampa, Houston, Washington, Cleveland, Atlanta. 12 years of coaching under people who are NOT your father, 10 of them as the OC.

That's a fair point. the flipside is that Kyle's dad isn't the greatest coach ever in the history of the NFL (at least in my mind). So, if you are going to get on a staff as an assistant for your dad, Steve got the right hand dealt to him.

Unless BB has a terrible free agent and draft cycle, McD should have a much better choice of weapons on offense than he had in 2020. Let's see how he does then.

As long as we upgrade QB in some fashion
I see mock drafts have us taking Waddle I get it but it terrifies me one to take a WR in the first round 2 to not get a possible Franchise QB.
That has to be goal 1 get that QB then WR then identify if we have starting caliber tight ends on our roster if we do great.
If not get them. Add a fricking pass rush please
All those things puts us back in the big leagues over the next 2 seasons.

With what QB?

Why stay with an OC who thought Tim Tebow was worth trading up in the 1st round for? We need a rebuild on the offensive staff.
Now that Matt Patricia is back, we should be good.

Byron Leftwich looks like an elite coordinator and HC candidate while the Patriots ranked 28th in offense.

StephenA today said Brady left New England because of the decline of offensive weapons, whiffing on NKeal, Sanu, and AB. They'll try to pin this on Belichick but this is the classic work of McDaniels.

No thanks on O’Shea.
