Pretty sure Brady improved drastically for like 4 straight years in a row with Belichick. He didn't fall out of the sky a complete QB.

.
He only improved because of Bill? Interesting take. Guess you're right, Brady was only Brady because of bill.

Why because we don't nuthug Brady the way other people in this thread do? I'm a fan of the Patriots. Was a fan of the Patriots when Tom Brady was still living in San Mateo. He left, I'm still a Pats fan. Unless a player retires a Patriot after playing their whole career with them why should I have to be beholden to them while playing for another team? Ya he won a bunch of SBs and I appreciate that but he moved on and I have too with the fact that he is on the Buccaneers and I'm not a fan of them.

There are actually people on here that are hoping Brady destroys the Pats next year. Even if that was the difference between the Pats making the playoffs and not. Yet the people that aren't nuthugging Brady are the disgruntled fans. That's backwards. All the disgruntled Pats fans are the one's that gleefully jumped onto Brady's side in the Brady vs Belichick/Pats stuff and actually sit there and act like Brady didn't go to a stacked roster while the Pats needed to rebuild after going to the SB 3 straight years.
You mad bro? Lmao

For Brady-only fanatics, without Bill Belichick, Tom is selling insurance for his dad's company by 2003. I say this as a huge Brady fan. They mutually helped each other. It's just weird to be a Brady-only fan and try to diss the Patriots organization or Belichick. Absolutely bizarre .

Not sure why you glean me being a Brady only fanatic. Tired of hearing 'Patriot fans' disparage this guy as only great because of Bill. Its nonsense.

@DropKickFlutie We'll agree to disagree. I'm not disparaging BB. I'm simply stating he created a great environment and platform for Brady to succeed. Brady becoming legendary wasn't because of Bill, he fostered an environment and gave him tools to get there, he didn't do it for him.

He's not only great because of Bill Belichick. He put in the work and improved every year for like 4 years in a row. That's a credit to him. At the same time, let's be aware Belichick inherited a 2000 team that was 10.5M over the cap with only 42 players. So had to add 11 more players, get under the cap, and he still chose to keep Brady as a 4th QB. Nobody in the league would do this for Brady except Belichick.

The other thing is Bill is a defensive HC. The notion that he developed Brady to the extent people are implying is ridiculous. He played a role for sure but Brady's development is a credit to Brady first and then and Weiss and then McD.

Bill is a complete HC who was a DC prior. It’s been well documented Bill and Brady met one on one weekly to go over game planning. I don’t think Bill was reviewing his defensive game plan w Brady. I would argue Bill had more to do with Brady success via providing the platform for Brady to succeed than Weiss or McD

Absurd argument that’s not only irrelevant but an incredibly unlikely theoretical.

Yes, they helped each other. Yes, Bill is undisputedly an overall great coach/GM and was a key part of the dynasty’s success.

But the idea that a late round NFL draft pick only succeeded because of his head coach is nonsensical, especially when that player proves to be not just an NFL player, not just an NFL starter, not just an NFL star, but an NFL Hall of Famer and arguably the greatest player ever.

Tom worked as an intern at Merrill Lynch his junior year and was headed to a career on Wall Street before that football thing got in the way.

I doubt Brady would agree especially with regards to Weiss. The offense the Pats fun is Weiss' offense.

To be fair is it any more nonsense than Patriots fans disparage Bill as only great because of Brady?

People forget those first 3 super bowls, brady wasnt the brady we know today. He was much more of a game manager

I really hope there isn't some long standing frosty relationship between Bill and Brady at the end of all this. I really hope in 10 years we can get a 30 for 30 type thing where Bill and Brady sit down and talk about their run. It could be 12 hours long and I would watch every minute.

Nope. Belichick is a sponge of football knowledge. Did you ever bother to find out how our entire option slot WR offense was developed? You're clueless to box Belichick in as only a defensive guy. BB basically brought in the entire offense that converted Brady from a 28TD quarterback to a 40TD QB.

.

Brady never played until this year without Bill. The result is pretty much the same as with Bill.

Bill coached 8 seasons without Brady and the results are not good!

Brady was clutch in those SB. We don’t have him, we have 0!

Stop already. You are embarrassing yourself with this. Where was that great offense in Cleveland? Oh right, he didn't have Brady running it.
