Five years ago, eyeball tests said the exact same thing.

Five years ago, Brady was still in the middle of his resurgence after a slight slump in the late 30s where Brady started to care again about winning the parking pass and working out like crazy during the offseason.

Completely agree.

How has Brady’s game slipped? I see absolutely no evidence of that anywhere in his game.

I love when playoff defenses are playing Brady’s receivers tight AF and he has to protect the ball and make reads for every conversion and people say he had a bad game because he didn’t get to blow them up like a week 3 game against the hapless.

If like three passes weren’t dropped/put just inches out of the receivers hands, Tom torches New Orleans.

I‘ve pointed out Brees’s huge problems with arm strength for years now, but at least the guy tried to bring them back despite the ignominy of those interceptions.

Rodgers literally would have turtle shelled and thrown check downs on 3rd and 10 to pick up seven yards while sulking about a bad gameplan. Saw it last year against the 49ers and in 2016 against the Falcons. And essentially the entire 2018 season when he clearly chose a meaningless record (consecutive passes without an INT) over winning. He pokes his head out again to rack up a nice stat line. I don’t know what his record is now, but he was 0-37 against winning teams when trailing enter Q4.

There’s no bigger front runner in sports. I have no fear of the Bucs losing. If they, oh well. But if the Bucs fall behind, Brady will claw back. If the Packers fall behind, Rodgers will collapse and meltdown.

No way I would take Watson over Brady this year. The Bucs outscored the Texans by over 100 points and Watson had Fuller, Cooks and Cobb who while not what Brady has to work with are not horrible. Plus the Texans went 4-12 and I cannot accept a QB can be top 3 with a record like that.

Do you honestly believe Tampa would rather have Watson in the playoffs than Brady right now? Brady has never needed elite athletes at WR but he has always needed smart WR. His early struggles this year were mostly based on not being on the same page with his WRs vs any decline.

In the playoffs are different. You want Brady for his track record and experience no matter who was better in the regular season.

And Cobb has been a journeyman in recent years. It has been a long, long time since his 1200 yard season. And Will Fuller is injury prone and hasn't played close to a full season since his rookie season. And I already said Cooks is a solid #2 or a decent #1. He isn't Mike Evans. Not even close. There is a reason why he keeps on getting traded from team to team every year.

i am way more confident in this game than i was the saints. the saints were the worst match-up in the entire league for the bucs. i'm confident that Wirfs will stonewall any pass rusher remaining. he looks all-pro level as a rookie. and Smith must have sipped Brady's drink or something because he has went full playoff mode these last two games against two nasty pass rushes

Brady always worked hard and cared about winning. The resurgence was the team’s and was mostly because the secondary drastically improved through better drafting and free agents.

Brady has always worked hard, but I mean putting in that extra effort. It was either 2014 or 2015 where he won the parking pass in almost a decade and instead of heading out to California he stayed local. I not trying to diss Brady's work habits, but he became far more dedicated

But yes, the Pats started to put more of an emphasis on the secondary after what they saw with first Talib and then Revis.

Let down by the OC (who I will forever blame for losing the 2nd Giants SB) and the defense.

There is a reason why the Saints are a historic 90+ million over the cap. That defense is loaded with multiple probowlers on the DL, Davis at LB & not one weakness at any of the 5 DB spots. They are a bad matchup for the Bucs.

The Packers have 1 quality CB & a fraction of the pass rush of the Saints & football team. The Bucs also rushed for 125+ rushing yards on two elite run defense. The Packers don’t have the talent to contain the Bucs offense IMO. I’m liking Tom’s chances at another SB appearance as long as the Bucs play man again.

Exactly, Tampa struggles vs NO cause they can bring 4, keep the safeties high, erase Evans, and still stop the run. GB can’t stop the run and only rush 4 to get to Brady

I remember in 2013 the talk was "will brady ever win a superbowl again" and then they went out and drafted Jimmy Garoppolo and the chatter got louder and was loudest after the Kansas city game when the Patriots got blown out and were 2-2.

Since that game Brady took his game to a different level. Improving his footwork and gameplay. I suspect at the time the "competition" of Jimmy G and possibly losing his starting job raised his game to another level.

So Brady, at age 43, turns a 7-9 team into an NFCCG contender after throwing for 40 TDs and 4600 yds with a QBR of 102 and he's "slipping"?! I've watched every single TB game since he started in the NFL and he is not slipping. The man has the all time strongest mental game in the NFL since he first stepped onto the field. No one, and I mean no one who has ever played this game has a stronger mentality than Brady. It has never been about pure athleticism with this guy. The dude is a winner and it is contagious for teammates. I'll take this guy over wilting daisy Rodgers any day of the week. GB should be scared. And whoever comes out the AFC should be scared as well. The only way to beat Brady has been to have a super studly 4 man rush and then clog the field with DBs. New Orleans was the toughest defensive matchup the Bucs had to deal with for their remaining games. I like Tompabay's chances.
