You could say the same thing about the Bucs and last week's matchup against WFT. Both teams didn't play their best game in the Wild Card.

True but i don’t think the saints are unbeatable like everyone thinks. We shall see. I think the Bucs come out and play a good game. I don’t know if it’s good enough to win but they should be up for this game after the thrashing they receive the last time they met.

Arians is an idiot. Brady has been overcoming him most of the year.

Judging by how many plays used in the last game came out of our playbook, I think Brady has finally begun to dictate terms on a HC level.

Maybe not directly. But he’s definitely more comfortable in the system to where option routes are clearly being more used than just the vertical stuff.

If he’s protected, I don’t see how Allen can have his corners going man to man with that receiving corps. That means the Saints will or should be in a lot of zone this time around. If their front is getting after Brady like the last contest, they can get away with man. If not, Brady will be seeing a lot of Cover-3 disguised as Cover-2 at the snap. He’ll shred that.

If Brees didn't get hurt he'd have 30 TDs and 8 Ints, which is far from being a game manager...
The rest of the team is very good and the coaches are elite. How many time has Kamara take a 5 yard or less pass and taken it for 20 plus yards or a TD?

NO reminds me of the NFC version of the Pats. They play good situational FB in all phases. Mixes it up well. They have a good record year after year and always a contender in the playoff.
The main difference is that except for their lone SB, they alway lay an egg at some point in the playoffs, probably cause Brees is nowhere near as clutch as Brady. Even when NO got robbed a couple years ago with that horrific no-call, Brees had the chance to overcome it but failed. I think he had two series in regular time and another in OT.

they haven’t won multiple super bowls because (a) over the past twenty years the NFC has been the tougher conference and (b) Payton is not Belichick. Brees would have 4 rings in NE.

They also didn’t have a defense for much of his time there. Their 2017 draft changed that.

My bets are:
One of Godwin or Brown is gone. I think they will franchise Godwin. I think they will try and keep Brown but someone will offer a contract that is too rich for the Bucs to match.

One of Howard, Brate, or Gronk is gone. Howard is injury prone and him or Brate could get traded. Gronk might retire again.

D Smith might have his cap reduced via extension.

Barrett and Fournette is gone. Fournette if he has another good game might get offered a contract too rich for Tampa. McCoy might stay as he is cheap.

The top draft picks will be used to shore up the defense.
I’ve said it before I’ll say it agian if there smart they let Godwin go get the pick and send that money somewhere else. Brady with Evans, Miller, and AB is fine

Some good stuff here that has aged like cheese...

If I didn’t give you any links or context, you’d think Max Kellerman authored these posts. Holy ****.
Holy §hit I'm calling the police ... "You put him into a pure west coast system and he might actually be a below average QB simply because his strengths don't overlap particularly well with what would be asked of him there"

What is the rationale here? How did you watch Brady for 20 years and end up here @luuked ?

Genuinely asking you think he's be a bottom 10-12 QB running WC or variation of it?

It's a bad matchup for the Bucs but not an unwinnable one. They can't put themselves in a 14 point hole and expect to comeback against a team like the Saints. If they can get an early lead, I think the dynamics will be a lot different from what we saw before. I agree with all of your points, but I'd just counter point that the Bucs are a really good overall team and are 3-point underdogs; homefield advantage doesn't mean much this year. It wouldn't be that big of an upset, objectively speaking. I also think the Saints will win, but a Bucs win wouldn't shock me either.

I believe I saw a stat that 90% of home playoff teams win if they win the turnover battle. Obviously that's absolutely critical here and even one turnover might be too much to overcome.
I’m actually confident the Bucs will score a lot, maybe the most the Saints have given up this year. The Bucs coaches are finally playing (relatively) smart football and the talent is showing through. Plus Tom is in an absolute zone right now. The Bucs may have the hottest offense in the NFL. Obviously that can all go out the window if their offensive line has a bad day, but that’s the same for every team.

The real question is whether Bowles will play to his defense’s strengths. They did in week 1 and largely controlled the Saints offense (game was lost by turnovers).

Anyways I probably just have too much faith in Tom but how could you not with how he’s playing?

The OL is what I'm also going to be watching, this Sunday. Even though Marpet is back, they lost Cappa and his replacement Larsen got put on skates a few times in the last game. The tiny upside to that is the problem has shifted from LG to RG which makes things a little more easier to handle because we all know Brady hates problems on the blindside and is easily flustered by that.

Smug arrogance that you're so smart while everyone else is so dumb.

Genuinely curious why someone would think he'd be below average running any type of WC? Really would like to hear any explanation. Once he got around the verbage I'm not seeing any issues but what do I know. I'm wrong a lot.

I was reading some posts in there, what a cesspool. Luuked has been a good poster but there were some cringy takes. "Only the Jets and Jags would take Brady" may have been the worst, coming off a 500 yard super bowl performance.

Weird how the GOAT qb got its own fans to start posting complete nonsense the last two years.

Some people end up with a take that is bad but instead of saying "okay I admit it was a bad take" they stubbornly stick to it and just decide to dig their heels in and make it worse. I have said some stupid things on here (like Cam and Gilmore may have been cheating on their wives when they got Covid while out to dinner together and Gilmore's wife claimed Cam and her husband never had dinner) but after being called out and thinking about it, I realized it was a stupid thing to say and acknowledged it. I don't know why it is so hard for some people you just say "yes I said something stupid" and move on.

I know zero about what happened there, but why is that such a bad take by you? Sounds from that like you might have been on to something

Many Pats fans have turned into Colts/Jets fans in terms of their takes to denigrate Brady.

I don't see the NFC being a tougher conference over the past 20 years at all. And NO has been in the NFC South which has not been a strong division. Not as bad as the AFC East, but not great either. NO has also often been a paper tiger--unbeatable in at home in the Dome and mediocre on the road.

Anyone else like the Rams over Packers? Bakhtiari injury will show up big against that front; Ramsey on Adams.
