Deshaun Watson? (UPDATED: Caserio Says Team Has "no interest" in trading him)

Wow, that would be something for the AFCE. But you guys don't really have the draft capital...

So watson complains that an ex patriot coach is now replaced with another patriot gm who might bring in another pats type coach and he would love to be traded to NE ?
Dont take me wrong, i would do this trade in a heartbeat. Texans dont have a first rounder as well. But its the dolphins who can make this happen by trading tua and 1st rounder to get watson.

As much as I like the texans, If I was the Texans I’d tell Watson to **** off if this is true.

to take that cap hit, I’d want 4 or 5 first round picks.

watsons own fault for signing a deal days before the season. That was well after the hop trade. And the coaching issues were perfectly known

Miami should offer both first round picks this year and Tua

I read that to start a trade conversation with Texans for Watson is 3 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks, and a player to start.

given the cap hit they have to take, it’s not unreasonable. The other team is getting a great QB who will lead them for the next 10 years.

First off I think Watson is a great talent, hard worker, and would love it if he was the Pats QB.

Now let me tell you why it is never going to happen......

It seems this all started when after annoucing the hiring of Caserio, Watson tweeted "some things never change" I would take this to mean that the Texans have once again gone to NE to get their HC, GM, or holistic spiritual guidance. Obviously Watson is not on board with the "Patriot Way" and some people think the answer to this is to demand a trade to the Patriots?? Yeah, Watson doesn't want to come here, and the Pats don't have the draft capital to get him.
Good point

We have so many needs around this team and since BOB is not there anymore, for that Bill's subway discount, that's just a nice idea.

The reality is that other teams that need a QB have, not only have a higher draft position than us, you could argue that they have better players to trade for as well. We would need to give up a lot of draft capital for that move, which we can't afford.

So the dolphins deal plus Tau and next years 1st

Also, Agents should advise their Clients (1st round picks and possibly 2nd rounders) to negotiate the removal of the Franchise Tag when their rookie deal is up as this does not benefit the player (see Dak Prescott).
Rookies are slotted
They have no leverage
They can sit out
And not get paid
And be a year older when their rookie contract expires

Note to rookies: Don't listen to TheRainMaker...he'll cost you money and a year of your playing career

Tell him NE will get him a loyal glute masseuse like the last sad NE QB had

Trade Divashaun Watson. They don’t need the drama.

Especially if you could get five first round picks from the Patriots. We owe Caserio a solid.
Why does NE owe Caserio anything?

Too much money to tie up at the quarterback position. Watson isn't Brady and the cost would be higher.

NESN basically stretching it here but if Watson is unhappy (deleted tweet) and Caserio is now in the building maybe there is a slim chance? The Texans desperately need to rebuild and don't have any real draft capital due to Bill O. Honest I would do it for 2 1's or some variation of a few high round picks.

Moments after it was reported that Nick Caserio would be hired as the Texans’ newest general manager, franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson sent the greater Houston area into unrest when he fired off a since-deleted vague tweet.

“some things never change…”

Watson signed a four-year, $156 million contract extension in September. The Texans would lose cap space ($5.7 million) by trading Watson before June 1. They’d only absorb a $21.6 million dead cap hit, however.

According to over the cap they would take a $51 million dead money hit.
According to rapaport they would want 5 first round picks.

What kind of cap hit would they have to take? These QBs being traded 1 or 2 years into a mega-deal are crazy (Wentz will be another)... the cap damage is absurd.

Edit: According to overthecap.com it looks like it's around a $22 million cap hit just to trade him.
