OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Tampa definitely has a chance. Only difference is in the NFC I think there's 5 teams who have a chance.

In the past, Patriots we're usually 1 of 2 top teams in the AFC played an average team in the divisional round and then a legit matchup in AFC championship game.

This is probably one of brady's most difficult paths. 3 games and at least 2 against top tier teams. They should beat Washington easily

Biggest obstacle for Tampa Bay isn't either of those two top tier teams, but Toilet Bowles.

I guarantee you that the OC's of those teams are digging out all the zone-beaters they have in their playbook right now. If Washington is smart they'll run overloads, combos which stress one side of the field (think trips R or L), use flood concepts- have their receivers hit gaps and sit there. NO and Atlanta were doing that all day.

Can we move away from the Brady vs. Belichick discussion in this thread? There's literally another thread with that as the subject matter. I'd rather focus this thread on discussing Brady and the Bucs, who have a playoff game upcoming that would be interesting to discuss.
Absolutely not. This thread was here first and it's the best thread on the forum. The Bill vs. Tom game is fun to watch.

Why on earth would anyone bring this up in the first place unless......You said "some" to pretend that it's not you advancing the notion that its a slight on Brady's legacy. You in fact only bring that up in order to agree with or to get people join with you in with that notion. We read ok. We read you loud and clear.

Why are you and the 203 guy so sensitive about Brady? It's a football forum, where football is discussed. It's a man's game. If you don't like me bringing up certain legacy arguments from people outside NE, then ignore it (or me) and move on. You act as if Brady was born in a manger...

The thing about Manning, Warner, Montana, and Favre's late careers is they all retired before 40 (except Favre at 41). These guys are all great, hall of fame QBs.

What Brady is still doing at 43 is unprecedented. I don't understand how this simple fact is completely ignored by the haters. Probably because he looks like 37, maybe they're confused. Lol

I don't understand the "For Bill side" or "For Tom side"...why can't everyone agree that they are the two GOATS and leave it at that and it was an incredible run. Does there have to be a constant argument, who was more important Bill or Tom? The "Bill trolls" are having fun now because we are out of the playoffs but I guarantee you that if Tampa loses this week or next week, then the "Bill trolls" will go in hiding and the "Tom trolls" will come out in force. To me, it's just a silly argument. My two cents.

Oh, btw, 203Pat, I didn't in any way intend this to be directed at you, just trying to make a point. lol

Ashley, sorry, but Kontra sucked me into it when he posted the Bill's record without Brady stat after the Bucs tremendous win against Atlanta. I think it went downhill from there lol.

They are in heavy denial and are butt hurt that Brady wouldn't accept Bill's low ball offers anymore and wasn't being a trooper with Bill surrounding him with crap on offense. They also throw in the excuse of Brady going rogue with his "TB12" brand.

On top of the constant trolling and whining you're also a liar. Nobody sucked you into anything. You live on this thread spewing your nonsense.

There's a minimum requirement for common sense. I'm shocked you haven't been flagged yet. Brady can go out there and throw 22 INTs, lose against WAS, and absolutely nothing changes. Not the debate of being the GOAT and certainly not the debate vs BB.

Edit: Also want to add that BB could lose the next 5 seasons and his legacy doesn't change either. Yes he won with the best QB of all time but he still did it. It makes no difference.

Tommy, you're a good poster...you should know Kontra likes to bait and have fun with posters lol....There is no argument out there that anyone can make to state that Bill is not a great coach...it would go the other way as well, if someone said that Tom wasn't a great qb...just ridiculous. I remember a poster saying a few weeks back that (I think they said that M. Stafford was a better qb than Brady)...just trolling.
I think the argument can be fun Bill vs Tom, but some posters on this board just take it to the extreme.

There's a thread for those who want to have the Bill vs Tom debate and it doesn't mean either side is trolling. I think a GOAT QB is worth more than a GOAT HC.

I come to this thread because I'm a Brady and Gronk fan and they're still playing. If the Belichick fans want to come here and discuss that, which they seem to, I don't see a problem.
My dad would agree with you...always said that a coach can't win without great players and that a bad coach with great players would have a team that underperforms. I love them both.

Learn to read. I said he sucked me in AFTER your Bucs beat the Falcons last Sunday, which implies I meant he sucked me back in after I was pretty quiet over the past week. Obviously I have been posting since the beginning of this thread.

BTW, what position are you in Ian's pool? Want to post that?

I remember thinking Favre was ancient playing at 41. Crazy to think Tom is 43 and doing what he is doing.

in your view and perhaps many other Pats fans view, nothing changes. But it probably will for others. Not in the sense that Brady is going to get knocked down from being the GOAT, but a bad loss in the playoffs for Brady is going to look bad for him. You can't just turn around say, "at this point it's gravy and he's 43," etc. It doesn't work that way. He chose to come back and recruited Gronk and Brown to turn the Tampa offense into one of the best in the league. He threw for 40 TDs in the regular season. Now he is expected to perform in the playoffs... without Bill. Others like Favre, Manning, Montana, and Warner did it for their second teams. Brady has every offensive weapon at his disposal to do the same. Let's see where it goes.

Comments:

1.) I am on the Bucs bandwagon until they are eliminated....I like them A LOT better than any other playoff team.

2.) The Bucs....right now are +1000 to win the SB...I think I'll put $20 on the Bucs.

3.) The playoff path is fascinating for the Bucs....assume that the Bears are cooked in New Orleans this weekend and that the Seahawks hold serve at home.... the playoff path is: @Fed Ex field, @Lambeau, @ Superdome, and then @ Raymond James (or whatever it is called these days).

4.) If Brady survives the @Lambeau and the @Superdome gauntlet.....man....nobody will have anymore **** to talk about him, LOL....

5.) I know....people will always *try* to talk **** about Brady anyway.

Seriously own the legacy arguments. Don't dance around them. Make your stand, dont say some say this and some say that. We disagree with your takes. So?

AND...I would absolutely love a Bucs/Bills SB....

Imagine Bills Mafia all excited about their 5th SB berth and first after 25+ years....ONLY to see Brady on the other side....LOL.

I remember you mentioning that about your dad somewhere.

Bill and Tom were the perfect storm and we were the beneficiaries. There's no way there'll ever be another pair as dominant.

As time goes on it won't matter at all. In the moment they will make a big deal of it and sell lots of ads, but it doesn't matter at all.
