There is literally no good reason to win this game. They lose they get a better pick and the jets gets worse pick.

Winning > losing. Always. I don’t care about the pick being 3, 4 or 5 slots lower. Winning is the only reason you play.

Okay a couple of things...

I got used to sayng/hearing Cam was playing for $1M, this says 3.7M... it could either be a confusion of total cap no. vs. salary, or just hearing and repeating a bad number... so, that's useful, but also...

Newton will exit with $3.7 million for one season of work. It’s far from market value, but it was the best deal he could find last year.

Da FAQ is market value for 5 throwing TDs? (But yeah, he has been as good running back, it's just we needed a quarterback.)

I just don't think Pats will win. 3/5 of the OL out. Harris out. Offense just can't move the ball, been 3 games since they scored a TD and now the jest have no reason to lose since they can't get the #1 pick and they are suddenly playing good beating the Browns and Rams.

So thinking this will be a loss, this also needs to happen today

It’s unrealistic to expect to suddenly compete the chiefs of the world next year im hoping we have some sort of a future at qb and a team poised to make a jump in 2022.

Not nearly as down on Cam as most on here. I never wanted him, because I thought he’d be selfish and brooding. He was anything but... Have no idea why fans wanted him here in the first place, but I don’t mind BB rising out the last two games. He knows what he sees all year and showing us two games of Stidham isn’t his priority.

Stid under wraps might also preserve some sort of options in Bill's mind, who knows. As for Cam, I never thought immediately he'd be selfish and brooding, and I was certainly hoping for success... with my private fear that running QBs break, and he looked pretty broken. He'd always gotten injured, but was usually able to come back.

And that said... I can't believe I'm typing this... he's not gone yet. Those FA waters might be pretty tepid, and it might be time in his career that he'd be good as the vet backup. The only problem there is that the wily and parsimonious NE Patriots might say to themselves, at the last minute, after losing a prospect... "You know what? He's got a year in and he's a pro level QB. So what if he's seen better days, he might be good now that he's had more reps."
