Ah yes, the age old phrase, "true fan". In this case accentuated via all-caps, "TRUE fan". As if there is some objective standard, purity test, for who is/isn't a fan of a given team. Seems kind of silly to me.
But, I get it, Brady did a lot here and it makes sense to root for his continued success. From afar, it seems he could've invested a bit more in the young receivers during his last season here (Meyers in particular), but I also understand (to a certain extent) his frustration and impatience with the lack of talented/productive receiving options. Oh well ... priorities change as folks move through life and Brady is no different; his career is nearing its finale and he wants to put himself in the best position for personal success in order to cement his legacy - I get it.
Not surprised the Bucs beat up on a bad Lions team. We'll see how they fare against stronger opponents in the postseason.
I really didn't know how I'd react as a fan to Brady leaving after it immediately happened. Once the games came on, I found it really hard to feel at all attached to the Bucs' success. They're just not my team, and as happy as I am for everything Brady did here, I don't find myself compelled to root for him when he's wearing a Bucs' uniform. That said, I certainly don't hold any ill-will towards those that do continue to root for him and feel personally attached to his performance.
