Jimmy is 24-8 as a starter.
Jimmy G is in his 7th year as a starter. He's pretty injury prone and always has been and only started 32 games. Now a big part of that is playing behind Brady in New England, but Jimmy G has thus far been able to complete one full season. Based off track records, I think Bill Belichick has no business gambling on a guy with injury concerns. We always do it to get value and it ends up biting us at big moments. Hell Jimmy only broke double digit games once.

I like Jimmy more than most but you can't give Bill credit for drafting a replacement and not actually having him replace Brady. I just can't get over the fact Bill had no backup plan in place when both sides knew Brady's last year would be 2019.

You can't create viable QBs out of thin air. Was there a free agent we could have signed? No. Not to mention our cap situation. Was there a QB we could have drafted? No. Not unless we gave up our entire draft. Maybe we just didn't like Jordan Love. Time will tell if he was a decent pick. We just don't know yet.

I was not making a case for us to get Jimmy. I was talking about his current contract. He wins a lot of games and is on a good deal IMO at $24 mil a year. The folks on the Hub this week were saying Jimmy's current contract is too high for Bill. I disagree. I think a guy who wins even with all his injuries is going to command mid-20s. I don't think the Niners will have any issue finding a trade partner, if they want to trade him, on his current deal.

$24m is right about where you'd imagine a guy with Jimmy's track record should be paid. You're right. It is not too rich a deal.

I would have kept Brady. I would have signed Brady to a 3 year deal after Jimmy was traded.

He's a good contract for a team that is win now without a QB that wants to gamble that he willbe healthy

Manning was great. Top 10 if not top 5. Always worried about him. But for most of his career he withered in the most crucial moments, and the D saved his bacon in both of his Super Bowl wins. Manning was so overconfident that he was not careful with the ball so he made gut wrenching fumbles and interceptions. & when he left the confines of the Dome, he didn't much like the cold weather either.

I give him a ton of credit for his one great year with the Broncos. He looked great. Had learned his lessons. Played in cold weather. But then he was obliterated by the Seahawks.

It's very odd that people always say Brady won his 6 SBs because of Belichick's great D, but they rarely if ever mention that 3 of those Super Bowl wins were because of a great offense (Carolina, Seattle, Atlanta). Not to mention that 2 of the losses were due to poor defense (NY Giants #2 and Philadelphia #2). All credit goes o the Patriots D vs. Rams #1, Philly #1, Rams #2, but otherwise it was all Brady.

Manning did not have the benefit of great coaching. Had he played under Belichick, he would have gotten at least 4 rings.

Yes but his availability sucks.

He was available for 1.5 games out of 4 as a starter for NE.

What is his availability stat for SF? 1 out 2 games?

If he was « more available » on game day, NE would have no shot at reacquiring him. Even WITH injury concerns, I’m not sure how legit a reunion would be... (though I’d welcome it, obv)

I don't disagree that is why he could be a value trade this off-season. I still doubt the Niners deal him and I also doubt they deal him to us when I am sure other teams would offer more in a trade given his reasonable contract.

Manning had a great career. Most have him in the top 5 all time BUT it is hard to not to see him in the huge shadow of Brady.
Think about it now. The only time Manning gets brought up anymore is in relation to Brady because their careers were so entwined. When Brees was breaking Manning's records last year, many of the talking heads debated if Brees should be listed ahead of Manning. I mean that is just foolish but that was the discussion. That is how far ahead Brady is of everyone.
He should be...as should Aaron Rodgers before it's all said & done.

Carlton Davis picked the wrong time to be out. Bucs need to win out to get that 5th seed. I don’t like their playoff chances if they lose today.

How many points is Tampa gonna go down before Arians let’s Brady play his game

Bucs should win comfortably today.

Detroit : bad teams find ways to mess up.

Thought for sure it was going to be another rough half for the Bucs when Brady whiffed on Godwin on the first play of the game

Guess not
