Just a question for all the people here that say the little play time he got so far is enough to say he isn't good enough. How would you rate Josh Allens Rookie Season?

So weird how "they would have won the KC game with Cam" turned into "we need to see what Stidham has" so quickly.

Thing is, I think Cam has regressed this season as the season went along. Something changed after covid for Cam and Cam never really got whatever mojo he had back for a long period of time

Stidham is a) not a rookie and b) not better now than he was as a rookie. I'm pretty sure Allen wasn't demoted from QB1 to QB3 before the season started either.

you keep coming over and over again with the Chiefs game but deny two other facts, he beat Hoyer out in his rookie season (with pre-season), and since the Chiefs game was always in front of Hoyer on the depth chart(rightfully so)

perhaps BB thought Hoyer was the better pic because he has like 10 years of experience with the Patriots offensive game plan compared to the rookie that missed the full pre-season action on the field because of covid? from history we know BB is not valuing experience thats why he is starting rookies from the start, always NOT!
if Stidham were that bad as you want to make him to be, he would not been replacing Hoyer in that specific game, nor would he be infront of Hoyer in the depth chart now...

stupidest take of the day! He's started all season - and has been a major contributor to so much losing. no one is saying they think Stid would have won all those games, but Cam didn't and won't, so we'd rather see a different skill set try.

You have to be mentally averse to logic to make such a statement. It's one thing to say you don't believe Stid is the future, or has the tools to succeed - fine. But to say he hasn't improved in the 2 years he's been here is ridiculous - mostly because WE DON'T KNOW! You can't judge what you don't know. Plenty of players have said he's improved - even the end of last year. So you're just 100% wrong. Every 1st and 2nd year starting QB is inconsistent - and that's with full reps and full games for experience. It took Allen until this year to really emerge. It took Tannehill 4 years to click. Rogers sat 4 years before he even played - you think he wasn't improving vastly as he waited??

Nope. Pretty obviously not the answer as he is bad and trending in the wrong direction. I have said I think there will be at least 2 new QBs next season.

It's like Stidham fans missed the Chiefs game and forget he's Hoyer's backup. Do you know how sad that is? Hoyer's ****in backup. Why the hell would you want him out there? lol.

I still believe in Cam, but our offense continues to suck. But we knew that last season. We gotta stop dumpster diving for receivers and search for these magical creatures called tight ends.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but do need to point out Cam was out at the last minute. I guess that’s not much different than having your QB get hurt mid game, but I think they were hesitate to throw Stid into the fire.

Granted, I do think Stid has been a massive disappointment, it does seem that he fell behind Hoyer on the depth chart. Hoyer probably cost himself a job next year with that awful KC game.

I think neither are the answer for very different reasons. Cams mechanics are awful. He makes better decisions than Stid but can't get the ball there accurately. He has decent leadership and legs. Stid throws the ball well but makes poor decisions. Both are incredibly frustrating to watch but both are also having to cope with a very weak set of receivers and virtually no tight end. I think many decent qbs would struggle in our team right now let alone our qbs with their obvious limitations

Stidham has thrown 37 passes in his career and completed 20.
So what you are telling me is that 17 total decisions (all of which certainly were not bad ones) are sufficient for you to judge his decision making and doom his career. Really?

Again you have to understand that there’s a lot of delusional fans that think the team doesn’t have a myriad of problems besides QB and also want to believe that they won’t have to do the hard work of drafting a QB with a high value pick or paying someone a lot of money in free agency.

So there’s this entitled attitude that people deserve to see Stidham because they desperately hope they can avoid all that and lighting will strike and the team will have just miraculously had the real answer all along.

These are the same people thought he was the answer last off season and thought Brady was hurting us for not wanting to work with garbage and that Stidham would bring a better attitude. It’s desperation.

This could be the most unobservant post in the history of this board. There are literally no people who have ever expressed the attitude you just attributed as group think.

The Stid lovers are hilarious. They actually think the Patriots are missing out on a stud keeping that guy on the bench. And they actually think Bill isn’t smart enough to put him in and bench a guy they’re paying peanuts to if that were actually the case.

Can you please identify any one poster who has said they believe Stidham is a stud? Can you identify a single poster who claimed belichick isn’t smart enough to do whatever gibberish you wrote after that?
