I was watching the end of the Chargers Bills game on Red Zone and could not believe what I was seeing. I used to think Lynn was a decent coach but I have no idea what happened. Herbert is playing lights out and that coaching staff finds a way to bumble away every game.

Here is what we are up against this week.

LAC sort of struggled vs Miami so that bodes well for the Pats defense.

Herbert was throwing the ball like a laser.

LAC has good receivers too. Ekeler, Henry and Allen has always been a favorite of mine.
That team has way too much talent to be this bad. Allen, Williams, Henry, Eckler, Bosa, Linval Jospeh. Herbert has been playing lights out each week but bad play calling and clock management down the stretch kill them.

I believe that BB will confuse Herbert enough so the Chargers lose.

I feel like its a tough matchup for us. They seem to be pretty explosive offensively and vulnerable on d, which is something we may have trouble exploiting. And only so much our d will be able to limit them offensively. Hopefully we can control the clock and keep the rookie qb off balance.

Comments:

1.) I live in San Diego....so I see more of the Chargers than I'd like...

2.) DirecTV is in a dispute with CBS and might lose CBS tomorrow if a deal isn't reached...if that happens...I will have to find someone with rabbit ears...grrr....annoying BS.

3.) The Chargers have some legit weapons in Allen and Mike Williams...two big physical receivers....dunno how we will cover Allen...Maybe JoeJuan in the RedZone.

4.) Ekeler isn't 100% yet...but looks to be even better on Sunday...he's a killer.

5.) Hunter Henry is pretty good, but the Chargers don't go to him often...I'd be worried given how the Houston TE's were killing us 2 weeks ago...and with some of the passes to Dan Arnold/Max Williams yesterday....

6.) Herbert is the best rookie QB this year and it isn't close, IMO.

7.) The Charger D missing its top DB's did very well against the Bills yesterday.

8.) Joey Bosa is back...and in a big way. I shudder to think of him barrelling down on a holding-the-ball-too-long Cam.

9.) Gonna be a dog fight.....we can't count on them making mistakes like they did against the Bills and many other teams......I think they will finally play a mistake free game and manage the clock correctly against us. We will need to play well in all three phases and not make it too easy for them!

Run defense isn't their strength which is welcome. these fecking accurate deep Balls from herbert are insane..Hopefully we don't give up these deep shots

He is so much fun to watch. His accuracy and touch are already at an elite level. Some of the throws he makes on the run are Mahomes-esque. I really hope they get a good coach in there for him next year if Lynn gets canned. It would be cool to see Bienemy from KC get a chance there.

Expecting that team not to make mistakes is like expecting a zebra to not have stripes.

You live in a beautiful city...i was there 9 years ago but i remember well...

3 5 6 8 9 i agree 100%

Keep Herbert in the pocket and take away Allen and we will likely slow them down enough for the offense to hopefully eek out a W. They’re a middling run D so we should be able to hammer them on the ground.

Herbert and his coach find ways to lose at the end. Stay close, at a minimum, and you’ll have a good shot.

I guess the league still has it out for the Pats. Was Julian expected to come back this week? Now a positive test all of a sudden?

Trailing by 10 points, the Chargers had a third-and-one situation at the Buffalo seven-yard line early in the fourth quarter Sunday.
With rookie Josh Kelley in at running back, offensive coordinator Shane Steichen attempted a speed option that the Bills immediately detected and turned into a three-yard loss.
“You love it when it works,” coach Anthony Lynn said after a 27-17 loss to the Bills. “I mean, it’s been 100% this year, but they stopped it. I have no problem with the call that Shane made right there.”
Given the circumstances, the Chargers could have tried to run the ball up the middle. But they attempted that on fourth and one on the first play of the fourth quarter and Kelley lost a yard. . . . . .
The Chargers did not have a smooth day offensively. On an afternoon when they won the turnover battle 3-1, they also converted only three of 16 third downs and lost despite running 21 more plays than the Bills did.

Despite Joey Bosa performing like the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player, the Chargers (3-7) went bust after a blizzard of mistakes.
Some miscues came from the field, but many were born on the sidelines.
Coach Anthony Lynn presented one head-scratchin’ decision after another. For those relishing in second-guessing coaches, this was nirvana.
It was L.A.’s last possession that was a pinprick. The Chargers needed points fast if wanting the chance to pull within a score and then attempt an onside kick.
Perched at the Buffalo’s 2-yard line after a 55-yard catch by Tyron Johnson with 24 seconds remaining and zero timeouts, the Chargers, of course, ran the ball.
Come again?
Yep an offense that has trouble rushing, but more so, with clock management, opted to point Austin Ekeler toward the line instead of having Justin Herbert spike the ball or throw it into the end zone.
