In the long term this win will likely mean nothing.... But I like seeing our guys happy... And I always like beating the jets. Proud for cam. I know he really wants to win and he's trying his hardest to make this work.

The reality is this is a 5-11 team, 6-10 at best. Our draft pick will be the highest it's been in years, QBs will still be available, and Bill will draft defense anyway.

Let's celebrate what I still think will be a rare win this season.

All this game showed me is that Cam can play very well if someone just gets open. He is being unfairly judged and it shows the lack of football IQ of posters here. Banged up OL, trash receivers, no tight ends and running back committee. Cam needs a few guys that will make his life a little easier. All QBs don't make receivers better like TB12, some need good receivers to bail them out sometimes, that's Cam. And at that point his legs become lethal when the D has to account for both WR and QB
Cam is not the way forward. Do actually like having a QB with 2 passing TDs in 7 games?

Brady had virtually the same WRs and TEs so you can quit blaming them for Cams poor play. The Pats just beat a team that wants to go 0 - 16 and high IQ football people are celebrating this victory.

You’re absolutely right; no wonder I was reluctant to post this Volin quote.
Lol I just watched cam’s postgame presser and someone (I think Dan roache) mentioned the stat to Cam.

Folk continues his consistant play
Harris and Meyers show they want to win
The OL, notably Thuney & Andrews, lead the way

we grab onto what we can I guess.

We were losing by 10 with 6 minutes left in game. We were worst than the worst team in the league for 54 minutes. I can’t see too many positives after this game except the win.

i guess all other 51 players on the patriots don’t want to win only Harris and Meyer do.

Rereading the 2000 season Belichick used that to figure out who had grit and would stay and who would go. We won't win 8 games this year but we'll know who will be part of the foundation in 2021 and beyond.
If my memory serves me correctly Bill picked up quite a few useful FA's in 2001. With the cap issues that possibility will be there again in 2021.
Hard to believe that it was 20 years ago, and what a 20 years it was.

If the Pats go 3-13 a top QB won’t really solve what ails the roster. Especially on defense.

Trading down will almost be a certainty.

Thanks @UptownPatsFan for starting thread.

I feel better knowing we beat the Jets and a win is a win.

Jacoby is a keeper. Harris is a star in the making. Our O line is really good when healthy. Our secondary is great and we have a lot of cap room next year to improve. All is not bad, let's enjoy this win!!!

100% agree. Tom E Curran said post game that when Cam throws longer than 8 yards, he looks like he throwing a javelin. I am not familiar with his throwing mechanics well enough to know if this is his normal motion, but I did note that he didn't look right last night. I am wondering if it's the shoulder thing, a back or core injury, or if this just the way he is.

While it was fun to see them come from 10 down and win on the final second of the game, this is far from a good win. More like the last win until they play the Jete again. At least until they get some key personnel back.

we had this argument many time sb ;)

it’s easier in my opinion, to have a top QB and plug pieces around him than have top pieces across the roster but missing the important one.

the teams winning a SB with an average QB are the exceptions. And while it happens sometimes, it is not sustainable.

if you have the chance to draft a top QB you do it and you worry about the rest later.

Grandi Meyers and Folk

Happy for the win

Go Pats !!!

Pretty simple test. Name 3-4 pieces we could add right now that make this team a contender. And if one is QB you have to factor in that it's flying blind
This team already is a contender. They could easily be 6-2.

I’m telling you: this team COULD compete for a Super Bowl.

As I have said all season long, Patriots will finish the season 10-6 and the Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will be at home watching the Pats in the playoffs.
Drugs are bad! Don’t do Drugs.

I have this feeling too. Take the last play of the game. Pass by Newton with 8s left in the middle of the field. Meyer caught it and fall to the ground untouched with 3s left if you don’t touch him the time runs out and you go to overtime.

This isn't how it works though. If a receiver declares himself down, which Meyers clearly did in the context of the game situation, the play ends regardless of whether a defender touched him.

If they hadn’t choked away 3 games this would be very possible. But Tampa seems pretty sure to be a playoff team.

Other than that pesky time out that messed up your theory.

Put down the pipe

Looking at the pats schedule the good news is that they may win only one more game this season. Top 5 pick maybe?

They'll beat the Jete again and maybe Houston. The rest are doubtful. 4-12 was good enough for a top 5 pick last year...
