OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

He needs to prove he can be successful without Belichick...with all the talent he has around him (Evans, Godwin, Brown, Gronk, Fournette, Jones) he has to succeed or people will just say he was a successful system QB in NE. Like I said, nothing good can come out of Brady going to Tampa other than a super bowl.

if this was 5-10 years ago sure, but hes 43 now. Not winning at this stage proves nothing

It seems to me that this has been the issue for Brady as he's gotten older. His physical skills haven't declined as much as his mental skills. He doesn't see the open man as often as he should and has turned into an immobile Aaron Rodgers.

This is what Brady wanted. He was told by one of his former college teammates that Arians is a "brilliant" offensive mind. At the end of the day Brady made the decision to go to Tampa. Really, in my view, there's nothing good that can come out of playing for Tampa short of winning a super bowl. His own legacy is taking a hit.

You're right, it was all Brady's decision and as they say let a sleeping dog ... Brady's legacy has been taking a hit even when he was with the Pats. I don't think last night was on Arians. There is tons of receiving talent on TB. A team with this talent shouldn't have 4 straight 3 and outs that's on the QB. Brady was the entertainment and the entertainment stunk.
I think this will be Brady's legacy, in my opinion: the older he got, the more he locked in to "his guys".

Arians is one of those "do what we do" guys and it looks like Payton knows what Arians will do and Arians just rolls over.

Agreed. It is does not seem like there is much depth in what they do either. The playbook must be very thin.

Welcome to over-reaction Monday. LOL. Last night was putrid but its not like they lost to the Vikings like GB did. The Saints were always the favorite to win the South and Peyton/Brees are the best QB/coach duo in the league right now. Lots of football left before anything gets decided. Brady will bounce back. He always does.

Obviously Arian's staff is unprepared. The bucs have lost the last 4 match-up, and particularly has been embarrassed at home by multiple TDs in 2019 & 2020. Before that the bucs& saints have split the series last decade.

For whatever reason the Saints have completely figured out Bruce Arian.

He has TDs to pretty much every receiver/TE on the team including their rookie WR Tyler Johnson but sure keep the narrative going despite the opposite being true.

Two losses against the Saints, a loss to the Bears, and probably what should have been a loss to NYG...I don't think it's overreaction. The Bucs are a good team against average competition, with the exception of GB. They'll be in the playoff hunt, but whether they can beat the Saints or the Seahawks in an NFCCG is doubtful.

Lol yeah all those superstars that were being held back by Brady are really flourishing now.

Brady has 7 INT this season, 5 of them against the saints that is crazy.

What is the impact of having Winston for the saints? Do you guys think that having someone who knows the weaknesses of this defense and how to attack them had a significant impact?

honestly yesterday Brady was force feeding Brown, i was afraid that would happen. Brown played like 80% of the snaps last night after being away from football for 14 months.

They were probably coming up with plays in Brady's backyard lol...

Huh? Just a week ago the Bucs were favorite to win the division and the whole thing. Now we are saying they were always expected to be a wildcard team?

they were outclassed by The saints twice, it is for sure different than playing the jets twice a year. For the bears and the NYG it is not like these kind of games never happened with the patriots. There is always games you expect to win that you lose and vice versa. There is a ton of game with a the patriots where we should have won fairly easily that were decided on the last play.

Like having Gruden in that superbowl against the raiders. Completely figured out!

The next 3 games are gonna be decisive for the bucs. We will see what they are made of. If they have some fight or not.

they have their fate completely in their hands. You could be 9-3 and feeling pretty good about yourself but you could also easily be 7-5 or 6-6. But if you still want to have a shot at winning the division you have to be 9-3 in three games.

The Seahawks don’t have a great d line. Also they’re weak in the secondary as well.

Weak is an understatement. They are the worst in the nfl.

Just an FYI. Good Morning America led with this sports story today. ABC not missing a chance to pile on Tom Brady. National news during a pandemic and election. They took significant time to highlight Drew Brees's *** whopping of Tom Brady.

????

The Saints have had ONE complete game this year and that was yesterday. Everything else was pretty average, handed to them by incompetent opponents (e.g. Bears or the first game against the Bucs) or a loss. Payton/Brees are not even close to being the best QB/coach duo in the league.

If Dunlap and Adams can get pressure on Brady then it'll help out their CBs a lot.
