That team is not good. Said before the season 8-8, maybe 9-7 at best, and I still feel pretty confident about that prediction. The Brady-Patriots marriage should have never, ever ended; both sides are going to come out looking worse.

Being the giant Patriots homer I am, I’m still going to stick with my prediction that the Patriots are somehow going to end up with a better record than the Bucs.

Belichick and Flores were riding coattails......lol Flores has seemingly turned Miami around in 1 season. Belichick with a team that had talent went 11-5 with a guy that hadn't played QB since high school.

Bucs would be a helluva alot better team if Flores was the head coach.
Just playing the role of the Brady-is-the-only-reason fan... I don’t believe that...

Hard to tell what exactly went wrong for Tampa last night, but from afar I think it's some combination of the following:

1.) The team had an 'off' night. Just laid an egg in a big game. It happens.
2.) Pass protection. Can't protect your QB and you're in trouble. Refer to #1 - I do think there are some legitimate weaknesses on that OL, but I also think they're better than they showed last night. The Saints pass rush over-achieved tonight, too.
3.) Coaching. It's obvious. It's a big one. This is the knock on Arians: against savvier, more thoughtful, deliberate, nuanced play-callers, he falls apart and completely lacks any ability to adapt. Last night was exhibit 'a'.

I still think Tampa has a very good defense (that ran into a good game-plan last night). Their offense I'm not 100% sold on, but we know they have a very good QB and some perimeter talent. Their offense will go as far as, 1.) their health, 2.) their OL play, and 3.) the coaching quality of the opponent.

Brady does not have 2 bad games in a row.

From what I saw Brady held on to the ball and looked to throw it to AB or deep. He had guys open underneath that he ignored.

Haven’t seen a SB contender get crushed this badly late in the year in sometime. Bad sign.

Their O-line is a joke especially the left tackle. Any idea how many sacks donovan smith gave up tonight? I would try something different at this point instead of him.
I said this when Brady was signed by Tampa. Wirfs is a rookie and Smith isn’t quick enough and has awful technique.

Having said that, Brady is at a point in his career where he can’t play without a clean pocket.

When was the last year TB12 could play (effectively) without a clean pocket?
Part of being a GOAT QB was also having 2 GOAT coaches (Scarnecchia and BB).

He bails out and makes poor choices more than he used to. Still a very good QB but pressure now gets to him even when it’s not really there. It’s a question of degree.

This so much. But it is not only Arians.

Bowles has so many chess pieces to work with and the defense has looked good against inferior opponents but Payton took him to the shed yesterday. Jesus..

Leftwich is just a walking joke as OC. There is nothing that the Bucs are doing on offense that is innovative or takes advantage of all the talent on the field. More often than not everyone just goes through the motions and things work out due to talent. They look like a collection of players and not a football team.

What a disappointing game.

next week baltimore @ pats. lets hope we dont see a replay of this score next week
The Ratbirds would need a QB to do that. They have an extra RB instead.

Just like the Pats.

Newton has 2 passing TDs with 7 INTs and 6 rushing TDs with 2 Fumbles.

Very reactionary thread.
The Bucs have issues like every other team this season, but one is not QB.

I would not mind 6 - 3 instead of 3 - 6 after tonight Jets lay down. Make no mistake, the Jets will gladly give NE this win because there is no way that they want to miss out on a real franchise QB like Lawrence. The Jets can virtually totally overhaul their offense this next draft with 5 picks in the first 3 rounds - 1, 1, 2, 3, 3.

Sure...except that with these skill players, they should be able to at least make some adjustments and look better than the New York Jets.
Aha! now we see the brilliance of Belichick!
Remember all those Patsfans posters saying "BB needs to surround Brady with better skilled players!", on and on and on.
We now see that having a cadre of skilled WRs and at least competent TEs is a motivation and game killer for Brady!
This explains Bill's heretofore inexplicable draft decisions and non-decisions of the last few years! BB knew that TFB's competitive fire thrived on garbage skilled players!

Toilet Bowles was so insistent on sticking with his soft zone shell schemes even though Saints came very prepared to dissect it. They knew where all the holes were.

Bowles is a man trying to ram a ball through a square hole and hoping that one of these days it'll work. Leftwich was also doing the same thing- refusing to scale down on the vertical attack and going with quick crossers, comebacks or curls or even just work the flat to help with a pocket that was collapsing as soon as the ball was in Brady's hands. So when both your DC and OC are ******ing, that's on the HC.

All a scathing indictment on Arians for being thoroughly outcoached.

“Beating the Bucs?? Don’t talk about beating the Bucs. Are you kidding me? Beating the Bucs? I just hope they can win a game. “
- Jim Mora probably

The Bucs are going to go 11-5 or 10-6, but the next month is going to be tough:

@carolina (almost beat KC yesterday)
La Rams
Kansas City
Minnesota (3-5 but they have some players who will be tough to stop like Dalvin Cook)

And then 2 games against Atlanta and one against Detroit to finish the season. If I had to guess they lose 2 out of their next 4 and then win their final 4 games. It's a playoff team, probably 6 seed.

Right now, they are the 5 seed but the Cardinals will be pushing them.

1. Seattle Seahawks, 6-2
2. Green Bay Packers, 6-2
3. New Orleans Saints, 6-2
4. Philadelphia Eagles, 3-4-1

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 6-3
6. Arizona Cardinals, 5-3
7. Los Angeles Rams, 5-3
