Hoyer can never start again. I would put that up there with benching Malcolm Butler as far as head scratchers.

Thing is...no one expects him to be a physical phenom. But the High School mental errors b2b were shocking.

You gotta at least try Stid next week IMO. If we can't beat Denver, may as well tank honestly.

It's odd...8-8 screws us 2 ways:

Bad year but not bad enough for a decent pick
nvm

I did my best to reverse jinx us but when Hoyer started this game and played into the third quarter, I wondered if BB was trying to build something in the defense by making them believe they can carry this team. It was interesting watching that and I think he may have just did that. The defense grew and started to believe. Could this be another MNF football that started a 2-2 run? Who can't we beat on the schedule now?

So 4-5 inches above his shoulder pad. In what universe is that a bad throw? This is the NFL, you gotta make that catch. Just like Olsen needed to make the catch when it happened to the Seahawks.
It’s not a bad throw. Edelman should bring that in, he’s right in the sense that Stidham made what should have been a layup a bit more challenging but in the NFL you bring that down.

What an odd and frustrating game.
Hoyer can't take another snap for this franchise. Smart, situational football, is a hallmark of a BB coached team and Hoyer made mistakes that a pro QB simply cannot make.
Because of Cams COVID test, flying to the game on game day, 3 of the OL starters out, dreadful QB play from a 10 year vet, you just fly home and throw the game film in the garbage can at Arrowhead.
2-2 with our two losses on the road in Seattle and KC.
While I hated tonight, I really like this team.

Ash, did a little digging. Here's what I've got from the NFL:

So it appears Cam can come back either 10 days after his test regardless of if he continues to be positive, as long as he stays asymptomatic, or 5 days after his test if he tests negative twice within those 5 days. He tested positive on the 2nd, so 5 days is Wednesday at the soonest, and 10 days is on 12th. The Denver game is on the 11th, so he will miss the 10 day cutoff if he continues to test positive. However, if he goes a 5 day span and gets two negative tests in that span, he could possibly come back before the 11th.

A lot of "maybes" here but it's certainly possible.

So at the absolute earliest he'd be practicing Thursday? Am i overly conservative when I say that and then having him play Sunday isnt a great idea, as much as I realize that game is very important?

Hoyer was just so bad... I was hoping for a Fitzmagic-like performance.

The throw is risky.

You cannot always count on every pass to be caught. 66% catch rate is outstanding.

Another loss that I come away with positive reactions.

Had the game for the most part penciled in as a close loss with Cam. But Now that Cam didn’t play I leave the game wondering what if he had been in there? Maybe a win possibly?

Hoyer was god awful. Not serious lose the game by yourself awful, but not good enough to take the team on his shoulders and beat a team like KC.

Defense was great, aside from the two dropped picks, they played as good as they were gonna play. Having the offense spot them at least 14 points off of to’s was and also some very friendly zebra calls I’d say they were mvp as a whole.

I’ll say this and then I’m moving on. Kc is lucky that Cam, Andrews and Mason were off tonight. They ran for almost 200 combined and it wouldnof been a lot worse. So bad that they would of shoved play action right up your asses.

I believe in this team, very early but they are going to get much better as the season progresses. Its not going to be 14-2 or 12-4, but they really have that 2007 Giants feel to them that could make a lot of noise come playoff time. Maybe even all the way to the Superbowl.

I would love to see them beat a legit team first with cam before i say that. They’re 0-2 against super bowl contenders. Would need to win the division to make any type of wrong. Not as a wildcard.

I’ve traveled for work the last 22 years and I can tell you that I always try to arrive the day before any important meetings because getting off the plane and heading to work is exhausting... and that is not to mention getting tested for C19 at 6 AM before the flight, nor playing without your starting QB and RB. What a gutty performance, all things considered! Very proud of the guys and feeling optimistic.

But that’s the last “good loss” allowed, ok??

And also, Hoyer should get super-AIDS.

Yeah that's the other side of it, do they want to plan to have him and he's not there? Or do they plan not to have him but then he is there?

Personally I think they will game plan for Stidham at this point and then if Newton comes available they may use him - at least the game plan between Newton and Stidham wouldn't be as different as between Newton and Hoyer.

Mods deleting all the posts outing @Triumph mental illness:rofl:

While I didn't take comfort from what I saw from Hoyer or Stid, neither had any real practice time heading up to the game and I would wager that both would play better with a week's worth of practice.

Hoyer's mistakes though wreaked of panic, which is a trait ill suited for his position. If Cam can't go next week I'd like to see how Stid would perform with a full week's worth of practice and a game plan suited for his strengths.

A bit, yes. But it was a good read and a read Brady has made many times to Edelman.
