I don't even pay much attention to the bottom of the roster until near game time. At that point I know who is on the roster. Is it just me? In the past, many have agonized about Roster position 51, 52 and 53 and who to put on IR to make room. And yes, this year, we can activate a couple of extras, including an OL.

I count only 51 on the roster, including the following who play very little (I have chosen not to list QB's and RB's). I guess my BOTTOM LINE is that there is plenty of room for additions at any time, without worrying about cutting a needed player. Yes, there will more issues as injuries pile up.

LITTLE USED PLAYERS
-------------------------
WR Meyers
OL Cunningham
OL Ferentz ("needed" extra backup at OC)
OL Herrron (developmental)
TE Keene (developmental)
LB Jennings (developmental)
CB Bryant
Player 52
Player 53
extra activated OL
extra activated other PS player

I would note that the following are almost exclusively STer's: Slater, Bethel, Davis, Davis, Maluia. I would note that Froholdt has played some on ST's.

Herron got in on a few snaps. Makes me think he’d be called upon if an OL missed some time.

Herron does seems to be ahead of Cunningham on the depth chart. There are the top 6 plus Froholdt and Herron. I would note that Cajuste may be ahead of Herron when he comes back, or not. In any case, it is good to see a draftee getting reps .

I'm glad Mack Herron is finally getting his shot on the Pats. He's been a great poster here.

We really, Really need Keene & Jennings to be more - much more - than bottom of the roster players for us; and that Right Soon...

I like being deep at OL this year though....there is a dearth of good OL-men in the league that I even think we will welcome Cannon back next year and possible keep Thuney around with a long term deal...the man is worth it...

Are talking about paying Thuney $17M? Thuney had all the cards this year, and the team couldn't meet his needs for a contract. Why will next year be any different?

Yeah...17M is a lot...for an interior OL-man, but I think I am convinced he's worth it now after his start at center last week....
