Actually, I understood he was agreeing with you.. But then, I've been around so long to understand his postings..

Yeah, it was a misinterpretation on my part. Reading his post again along with his reactions to prior posts, I booted the tone of my response. My bad.

Part of the problem is that I am in full-time Harry defense mode right now, not because I don't have concerns of my own about him but, rather, because it pisses me off how unfairly he has been treated by many Pats fans, sport radio douches and even Pats beat guys. Give the kid a legitimate chance to show what he can do. Between all of his missed time as a rookie because of injury and the lack of an offseason this year, I just wish that people would be reasonable and cut him some slack, for at least a few weeks.

You are completely talking out your bung hole. Per usual. Michel wouldn't have been around in the 5th or 6th. And yes, he CAN be used in the passing game. Just because the Pats use other backs for that doesn't mean Michel COULDN'T be used that way.

You sound like an angry bitter person. A total troll on the site. Are you incapable of posting, ever, in a pleasant manner. Every time it's abrasive. Maybe close the laptop and go outside for awhile.

I said a RB like Sony would have been around in the 5th or 6th. Comprehend better next time before being a douche. You’re deliberately not using your 1st round RB in the passing game....because.....

I wouldn’t expect an obnoxious homer like you to see the obvious with him.

I would think that Sony doesn't get used in the passing game as much because he isn't as good as Mr. White in that role. Which I would argue that there is no shame in that, few are better than JW as a 3rd down back. But I too would like to see Sony get a bit more catches this year to keep the defenses honest when he is in the game. Overall I love BB's approach to RB's, he keeps them fresh and (ideally) healthy while keeping their numbers down so they don't become expensive when it's time to re-sign them. And if for some reason the player does leave, the hole left isn't as large top fill. The downside is that we will never get to say NE has the GOAT RB to go along with the GOAT QB, TE (??) and HC. Oh well 6 time champions will have to do for now. ;)

Sony being one dimensional really becomes an issue when teams know we are going to run the ball when he’s on the field.

The rb position needs to have some swag/attitude (on field), I feel like Sony is too “nice” to be a good rb
Are you saying Sony isn't a "good RB"? I could understand if you think he isn't a "great RB", but he is definitely at least a good one. Personally, I think he is a great RB/teammate. Never here anything negative from him and he does his job very well. The RB by committee model is BB's signature, i don't think it is fair to blame the RB's for the roles they are chosen by the coaches. He can go to another team at some point and get lots of fantasy FB points, hopefully here he will help get the Pats another SB.

One of the only people I have ignored on this board...

I'm on board with trading for OBJ (vs Robinson), for reasons that have been discussed by others in this thread and I think that OBJ would love to play for BB and with Cam and would thrive here, but I don't think that the Browns would consider dealing him for at least several weeks and more likely not until the trading deadline....they have too much invested in him and in his QB to wave the white flag on the season so early on. If they start the season 1-4 or 1-5 then things may start to heat up.

Another player whom I am keeping my eye on is Curtis Samuel, whom others here had discussed in the offseason. From what I have read, he didn't have a stellar training camp

and had a quiet first game (5 catches for 38 yards) as their WR3. Their new head coach has little invested in him emotionally and with Moore, Anderson and Mccaffrey likely to see the bulk of the targets (Samuel had a solid 8 targets week 1 but I doubt that will continue going forward), he may become somewhat of an afterthought in that offense. He would be a clear upgrade to Byrd, in my opinion, although BB clearly has an affinity for Byrd and will likely give him a fairly long leash early in the season.

Now this is a very interesting name and idea. Great call.

The common thread is the huge expectations people have for first round picks, yet forget we're picking very late in the round and think that drafting is an exact science.

The sports talk show types like this kind of hot take since it's simple.

In the rewatch thread I say I misjudged Harry after watching the game the first time. He did play tough. It seemed Cam liked throwing to him. Also, Sony was on the field a lot and had some solid runs. It seems like the coaching staff are confident in him. Both are solid starters now, and have room to improve.

I'm sure none of the coaching staff are doing the 'we could have had player X instead of player Y' thing. It's about as helpful as saying 'I could have married your sister instead of you'. Yet we see the media do this kind of stuff all the time. They've got a lot of airwaves to fill.

We are a top receiver away from being a playoff contender. We used a #1 on Harry. Byrd was our receiver with the most reps last year. Edelman is on his last or next to last season, and is often injured. Meyers is a wannabee and gets a few reps as the #4. This is one the worst groups in the league and one injury away from disaster.

One must believe that Belichick has some faith in Meyers, preferring him the JAG wideouts available as free agents.

BOTTOM LINE
I expect a significant trade, and perhaps another addition, before we come out of the bye.

And yes, an option may be available in Cleveland.

Wishing and a hoping.. but from my view we should judge Harry in Dec/Jan.. some of this is premature, without a lot of evidence.

worse than having 35 million singles and realizing it's not a scrip club

He is nothing more than a glorified BenJarvus Green-Ellis thanks to being a first round pick.

You sound like someone who is butt hurt over the fact numerous people are calling you out over your ridiculous posts. You resort to calling people Trolls despite the fact they've been on this board for nearly 20 years because you've got nothing else. You can't actually take intelligent football. Others point this out about your assessment of Harry.

Maybe you should post in a manner that is intelligent and shows you know football so that you don't have numerous people calling you out. Or is that too much to ask?

You should follow your own advice since you seem to whine any time someone takes issue with your uneducated posts.

Never met a man who was happy marrying the sister instead.

I forgot to bookmark the post but someone suggesting making a call on Curtis Samuel who would actually be the ideal fit. He has experience with Cam, he is in the final year of the rookie deal and would be the kind of upgrade over Byrd that would make sense. He also would also not require some kind of Tier 1 market contract if we'd choose to extend in the offseason.

The Panthers have a pretty tough early schedule (@Bucs, Cardinals, @Falcons, @Saints plus more winnable games against the Chargers and Bears) so if they hover around 2-5 before the trade deadline look out.

Personally, I would hope that if there is a move that it would happen before our BYE just to maximize the time a player has to catch up. But given that deadlines usually spur deals I think that's not that likely.

All that being said at this point we don't even have a data point on Byrd. Hell, maybe it turns out that there is no real need to upgrade on him because he can get the job done adequately when given a target.
