What are everyone’s thoughts on this? If this season goes the way many think it can go with players missing time due to Covid do you think the 2020 Super Bowl champions should be looked at as true champions?

I’m not saying that if a few guys miss time I’m talking about one team loses multiple starting offensive lineman for two weeks and other various teams lose their starting QB etc. If this season ends up being a war of attrition due to lots of players missing time after testing positive with the coronavirus then I don’t know how this year’s winner can hold the same weight.

No. It's different but every year is if you think about it?

**** happens. Injuries happen. Replacement refs happen. Shortened seasons happen. Rule changes happen.

This season will be no different. The healthiest team with the best coaching and QB situation going into Jan will matter the most.

I could be 100% wrong I'm an idiot.

No. They all know the rules going in.

Don’t fret...there will be no champion and probably no season at all.

I agree with what you’re saying to an extent but what I’m thinking is a possibility is entire position groups are wiped out for two weeks. Like a team’s starting TE’s are gone for 2 weeks in the stretch run in early December. I don’t think it’s a stretch to think multiple players of the same position can catch it at the same time.

No, because every team will have gone through the same difficulties. Leave the asterisks for the Astros...

No I agree there are some unique cases that could arise from this. It's uncharted territory.

No. NBA yes because of the long layoff.

If it's us, no. Anyone else, yes

That's pretty accurate, here's how it'll go:

Anybody but the Pats win "This team came together and overcame such overwhelming adversity given the deathly threat of Covid-19, we'll talk about this team forever"

Pats win "Once again the evil Patriots have taken advantage of a situation and used Covid-19 to their advantage, even though they won it all without Brady it doesn't truly show how much he was missed this year, let's say how Brady vs. Belichick do without this pandemic"

Depends on how many games are played. 12 or more, no asterisk.

Don’t fret...there will be no champion and probably no season at all.
I just heard the guy on the Vikings in charge of making the facility safe is now in quarantine having tested positive. He just gave Peter King a tour showing all the precautions they're taking. No season looking more and more a reality

The NFL? No, but it is impossible to give a definitive answer until we see what happens.

do the super bowl titles from strike shortened seasons have an asterisk? nah ...

no reason to do it for this season either...

Multiple undefeated teams at week 3.

If anything, I think winning a SB is twice as hard this year than any other year.....so negative asterisks then.

Is the idea that the SB winner isn't fair if the patriots have enough injuries to believe that they would have won if they were healthy? Surely, all winners other than the patriots should have asterisks.

how 'bout an asterisk with an asterisk?
