Patriots Wiki was always very accurate. I've been out of the loop the past few months regarding coaching - front office changes. I'm pretty sure Bill had a title in the Front Office section. Some other interesting changes on here as well...such as Lombardi the WR coach when I thought he was Assistant QB coach. I guess Fisch is a better fit...perhaps with a new starting QB now. Did Fisch coach Studarm in some capacity in the past? I also thought Carmen Bricillo was going to coach the Offensive line...but looks like Cole Popovich will be...which does make sense as he was learning under Scar. I don't expect the title of DC to be filled but what's up with Defensive Line? Why not bring Pepper Johnson in? How about Devlin helping out Ivan with RB's?

Fisch has been around the league and college a while. Was even an OC in a few spots No connection to Stid.

No way Pepper comes back. That ship has sailed.

I can see Develin in a training camp role like Troy and do some QC/assistant coaching during the year. Could be a future successor to Ivan who is in his 60s?

Lombardi has been around as well...

Why not Pepper? I don't recall he burned any bridges after he left in 2014ish (not that it would matter with Bill...I don't think). He was with the team for about 14 years as a coach in some
capacity and still only in his 50's.

I think Pepper had a glass ceiling here and the fact he hasn't been a DC elsewhere I think shows he doesn't have what it takes to be a DC.

I was saying the Defensive Line. "I don't expect the title of DC to be filled but what's up with Defensive Line? Why not bring Pepper Johnson in?" He was D-line coach for a long time...

My point is Pepper wants more and Bill won't give it to him so Bill isn't going to bother nor will Pepper want a role here in which there is no room to grow.

This should be a sticky.

Ok I buy that. He is also currently unemployed.

Pepper got a DC job. In the XFL. He was fired. After one game.

Interesting that Demarcus Covington who was a WR in college starts as a outside linebacker coach after 2 years as a coaching assistant.

Brian Belichick will be starting his 3rd year as a coaching assistant apparently not ready to take over a position.

Pepper could be burnt out. It seems his career is going in the wrong direction

I could be wrong but I think Demarcus was helping outside linebackers since 2018...which is strange because he was a WR.

Some people are just good enough football minds to the degree it doesn't really matter what position they're coaching. We've seen that on the Patriots staff before (moving around to different positions with no discernable pattern) and it gives me confidence that Develin could coach any position if he put his mind to it.

I agree. The issue is whether Develin wants a very low paying job (compared to last year) with very long hours. How many years of coaching would equal his pay last year?

Also, some folks actually want a year off (or more) after they retire.

This can't be true Murray said BB fired the whole staff just to prove he can coach it all.

Who was that guy we brought in to help with scouting? Was that a thing?

What does anyone know about Cole Popovich, Scar's successor?

His entire coaching career has been on the defensive side of the ball.

If you’re a WR, you see LBs all the time in coverage.

Played OL for BBs BF Pat Hill at Fresno St.

They basically have two OL coaches, one with more Pats system experience and one with more OL coaching experience. Interesting blend. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Scar pops in from time to time.
