So any qb who isn’t brady would throw 100 pick 6s and we go 0-16?
Come in answer the question. We had 11 games allowing 14 or less points. How many games would an average qb have won?
A lesser QB would have gotten extremely impatient and tried to make the big plays instead of recognize the incompetence he was surrounded by and throw the ball away to protect the lead. There was value in making smart decisions instead of trying to force things. Brady has that confidence, although it was tested very hard last season.

None of them of course. I bet Cassel in his prime would have won 12 with that team. Maybe Hoyer too.

Maybe one day this season we’ll move on and stop being sore about Tampa Tommy leaving town. If he was good last year maybe Bill would have done a little more to keep him around. Or not. Who knows and who cares.
You are taking this wrong.
In many years since 01 we would have won a lot of games with an average QB.
We wouldn’t have won any sbs though (well we may have snuck one in we didn’t deserve )
The GOAT isn’t the GOAT because he turned a 3 win team into a 13 win team.
He was the GOAT because he elevated good the great and made the plays he needed to make to win championships.
But last year he wasn’t the GOAT. hell he was 42. The defense dominated many games. And over the last 8 games, possibly because he was injured the GOATS play was anemic. It’s life.

The point is the 12-4 patriots were not a 4-12 team carried by a QB to 12-4 they were a 12-4 team and the QB play wasn’t why they won.

Seriously? 2001 O-line better was better. Troy Brown had 101 catches and was the leagues’s best punt returner. Patten had 50 or more receptions and was a legit deep threat. Antoine Smith was excellent that year. About 1200 yards. Redmond was a very good 3rd down back as Faulk was energize. Yes, I would take those 2001 TEs over 2020 TEs. This duo might be better someday, but not likely in 2020.
Yeah we disagree.

Well in terms of impact the first 2 picks might exceed that alone.

I’m thinking that Uche and Collins match each other and hopefully the TEs are the TE equivalent of the Rutgers guys; decent starters/contributors that are arguably replaceable which leaves Dugger as the improvement.

Brady still isnt the same player from 5 years ago

15 months ago Brady had a stellar postseason and looked great. Look at the numbers. He had 10 stellar quarters. 2 quarters (1st and 3rd of SB) were not up to par, but in the other 10 quarters, he was the GOAT.

or 3 years ago.
Thats why im like, Yeah it sucks that he's gone but its refreshing because we wont have to hear about the cliff anymore. What if Brady shows up in Tampa and plays like he did last year?

I agree with that. And in 2020 we are not a 4-12 team at heart that turns into a 10-6 or better team if a 43 year old Brady is still here. My comment was referring to that. The general saltiness and sour grapes that’s he is not here anymore.

Draft Value of Pats / Jets Trade:

To the Pats:
101 - 96 points

To the Jets:
125 - 47
129 - 43

2021- 6th round pick

The future pick could be anywhere from 9-18 points depending on how the Patriots finish..

I call it a wash.. Maybe a slight over-pay, but not something to terribly whine about.

Right. And unlike last year there probably will be some games decided by QB play but this notion that 2019 was a crap team carried by brady is just wrong. That’s not a Knock on brady. He did his part in the first half, it’s just a matter of the defense played so well they would have won without him and in the second half either he was hurt or age just caught up because his plays was levels below any other point in his career.

Like I said in my thread, I may be totally wrong and we tank but based on previous years when Brady did not start and we went 11-5 and 3-1, im not feeling that. BB demands excellence and the only year we did tank was 2000 when he inherited a roster from none other than Pete Carroll.

That KC OT drive still gets me wet. Goddamn. I'm gonna miss that guy. He made for some of the best football in history, it was absurd.

Tampa will make the playoffs.
If he plays like he did in the first half of the season they will. If he plays lie he did in the second half of the season they won’t.
The $25,000,000 question is whether it was age or injury.

Stop hitting the crack pipe. Tampa is in the playoffs barring injuries to all three of Evans, Godwin and Gronk.

Brady will be motivated. I wouldn't worry much about Tampa next year, they will be good. The year after should be their concern, they likely regress just as much as they improve in 2020.
