OT: Lynch Admits 49ers Had Interest in Brady

They kept Jimmy informed, and ultimately decided that they wanted Jimmy over Brady. If anything, I'm sure he is happy that he was picked over Brady.
Even still, it must be frustrating. You lead your team to a 13-3 record (including 5-1 in the division) and get them to the Super Bowl and you find out you were still being considered as potentially being replaced. I'm guessing that he's probably more than a little annoyed by it.

Although, then again, I'm sure when he gets too irritated he picks up his phone, looks at his bank account, and then moves on with his life.

As a friend once said to me when I was complaining about a small aspect of the call center I owned at the time, "Go cry into a bagful of money." LOL

And the porn stars on speed dial.

I haven't been paying attention to his personal life, but I'd like to think he's moved past whatever phase that was.

I can't imagine he would be. This isn't meant to be disrespectful, but did you read the article beyond the headline?

All Lynch did was admit that when someone like Brady says they want to join your organization, you have to have some kind of internal discussion.

He said they discussed it, kept Jimmy informed which showed respect, and then said Jimmy is our guy.

If they didn't keep Jimmy informed and just now said they considered it, I could see your point on him being annoyed. But leadership was open and honest.

Great answer if the wife reads the forum!

I read it further after the OP, but given the history of how he's operated, I feel like that was Lynch backtracking and my guess is he probably told him about it after word started to leak out. I doubt he sat Jimmy down and said, "hey, we just want you to know that with Brady being available, we're considering him..." In fact, I'd be willing to bet that as soon as word leaked out that it was even a possibility, that may have been when they told him they did their "due diligence" and then backed off. Don't forget, that happened really early in the process, it's not like they were outbid for him by Tampa - which happened much later.

The draft is tomorrow and we have yet another Brady thread.

Ex-Pats QB Tom Brady confronted by cop for playing with himself in park.

Niners briefly considered signing ex-Pats QB Tom Brady....5 weeks ago.

Next up? "Bucs medical staff concerned that ex-Pats QB Tom Brady may have developed avocado intolerance, as recent bowel movements have been unusually loose and urgent: Will this affect his preparation for the upcoming season?"

(yes, I know about the ignore thread function)

In the 4th quarter of the Superbowl, JimmyG went something like 1 for 10 in the 4th quarter with multiple turnovers.

.

Brady is a better fit for that SF offense.

Weird thing to say when you just had JG take you to the Super Bowl.

I don't have an issue w/ Lynch exploring the thought of TB12 but not sure what the upside is in making said discussions public. Is he trying to motivate Jimmy?
That's what kills me. If you want to call and inquire, call and inquire. No need to let it become public knowledge. Belichick has probably done it countless times and you don't hear him talk about them. Think of all the trades that have come out of nowhere here - you've really never heard reports of them prior to them coming to fruition. In fact, he won't even explain his thoughts on the deals once they're done.

My friend who is a 49ers fan complained about him all last season. He was convinced every throw was behind the receiver.

LOL..I've made, and will keep on making, the same mistake of not using the ignore thread option.
