Gronk trade completed

Your view will come crashing down this season when you realize just how wrong that is. Brady has been the constant that has given Belichick the big margin for error.
We get it; you hate Belichick.

Belichick is a great coach and Brady is/was a great player. It’s really not one or the other. They complemented each other incredibly over 20 years. They got sick of each other like any other huge egos would. I’m honestly surprised they lasted that long. It really shouldn’t have. Gronk was also a great player, a hall of famer, but he’s always seemed to be along for the ride to have fun, and that’s okay. The people saying “Belichick sucks it’s all Brady” are dumb and so are the people who are saying “Brady sucks it’s all Belichick.”

There is no question that going from a vet QB who is widely considered the greatest ever to an unproven QB will lead to winning less.

Question : will you be back to discuss if TB goes 7-9 ? I will, if TB goes 11-5 or better.

Of course it is...Thanks a lot Little Billy you feckin puzzie...
Pretty sh*t analogy. I'll gladly cheer for my favorite player while he still has 2 or 3 years left.

Being some degenerate in real life with a wacky relationship preference is not the same.

This is like saying you can't listen to both 2Pac and Biggie music.
There's 3 words that should Never be used together: 2Pac, Biggie, and music...

2001-2003-2004-2014-2016-2018

Awesome. He can piss off whomever he wants while he’s bringing home trophies.
Your little Billy ain't bringing home any more trophies, ever...and neither is his thanksdad co-defensive coordinator.

It will be interesting to see who does better this year. Belichick doesn’t have a GOAT QB to bail him out of having mediocre personnel. He is going to struggle without Brady.

We’ll also find out how important the draconian hard ass attitude is to winning depending on Tampa’s success.

Kraft messed up with his calculation here. He could have and should have forced BB to keep Brady and soften his attitude to increase Gronk's pay when he asked for it instead of forcing him to retire. If we had Gronk, I bet we get the first round bye last year and could have gone deep. Our D was world class and O would have dramatically improved, all for refusing to pay Gronk $12m instead of the $9m he was making.

TB is not going 7-9. Stop smoking crack.

And where do we get 12 mil in cap space? All he has to do is sign his un-retirement papers and the Pat's either cut him with a huge cap hit, keep him and slice and dice the cap space and boom sorry not feeling it.

The Pat's really didn't have any leverage from the way I see it. A 4th kinda sucks, but given the circumstances it's probably fair.

You go to Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia and say “let’s cut out the crap here, you know you’re trading #67 overall for Joe Thuney on Friday, so let’s do it on Tuesday instead”.

i thought compensatory picks were non tradeable

Kept what together? He was the coach?

An ugly truth that some people are in denial about. Belichick had a luxurious margin for error over the years. But I’m doubtful his coaching magic is enough to make up for losing Brady and poor roster management. Not to mention we are somehow cap crunched with a mediocre roster

You actually think Brady is the one who kept it together ? I disagree. BB has been keeping this together for two decades.
A coach needs a leader, preferably a QB, who buys into the program. When they do and are successful, the team follows their lead. That is what has kept the ship afloat.

Defense veterans like HT, McCourty and Gilmore will have to pick up the slack now and convince the young players on both sides of the ball to buy in.

Absolutely. In this thread, and others, a lot of the "gotta get MOAR for Gronk" people ignored that, or didn't realize how that works.

Not get more for Gronk. Just get more OF Gronk. I want him playing for us. He's not cuz he doesn't frickin want to play for BB anymore after the way he's been treated. And Brady driven out for frankly the same reason. Driven to madness.

BB has frickin lost his marbles throwing out our best players ever for nothing, all to prove that he can do it without them. BB is going to face up to reality this season.

No one knows if the NFL will even play this year so it's a good deal if rebuilding for 2021 is the goal.
Great point. We get the fourth, which we will use this Saturday. If the season isn't played, the Bucs will get nothing.

You wanted to uproot your life because New Englanders are loyal, passionate and perhaps somewhat spiteful in their fandom? Weird.

Loyal... LMAO. Boston sports fans are some of the most fickle fans on the planet. You're also not loyal if you're automatically spiteful to a guy whose arm won your team 6 Lombardi trophies because he decided to move on for two years of his life.

BB is in full rebuild mode. I thought all of you would be happy.

I guess we’re all going to find out who’s right, aren’t we?
