Take it from someone who has worn gloves in chemistry labs for about 35 years, you need to use new ones frequently. I have a box in the car and put them on, with my facemask, after I have locked my car, put away my keys, and am heading into the grocery. Then I take them off without touching the exterior of the gloves, in the parking lot before re-entering my car and after putting groceries in the trunk. I toss the gloves and mask in a bag in my car for trash. That way my steering wheel, gear shift, etc. is not contaminated by anything that might have been on the gloves, though I will have handled my keys and door handle with gloves on, unless I had left my car unlocked.
At home I put new gloves on, carry in the groceries, wipe my keys, wipe the packaging, then I take the gloves off without touching the exterior of the gloves, tossing them in the trash. I then wash my hands, toss every stitch of clothes that I had worn to the store into the hamper, head to the shower, and then hopefully the groceries last us another 7-10 days.
Grocery delivery hasn't been reliable, unfortunately, so the grocery store risk seems inevitable. My grocery has been good marking the floor to help keep people apart. I also make sure my list is super-organized so I am not backtracking all over the store.
