No one connects anything with the guy other than he became known as “the guy Bill shockingly cut before the opener in 2003.”

That’s a shame. Guy made 4 Pro Bowls in his last 5 years here, made multiple All-Pro teams, and was a big part of helping win the first Super Bowl. For several years, he was one of the premier safeties in football.

It’s really a shame to me. He deserves recognition as a great player during his time here. Still one of my favorite football names ever too.

I sure didn’t. Named my first dog after him. Absolutely loved Milloy and his game.

I don’t see anyone saying anything negative about Milloy.

Why would a guy who has not played for the Patriots in 18 years become a thread topic ?

Most people on these boards respect Milloy, but are more concerned with today and tomorrow.

When was the last time we had a Ben Coats thread?

I’m bored. What else is there to talk about? ;)

Haven’t heard his name brought up in quite some time. You hear about Ty Law, Rodney, Tedy and those guys all of the time. Lawyer doesn’t get brought up when we talk about those great early dynasty players as often as he should.

Wasn't Malloy the first star player BB cut which led Tom Jackson to say "they hate their coach"? If that's the case, I don't think its the player but the situation.

I loved Milloy’s swag, but he was on the decline after the 1998 season. Too many times he was doing his signature first pump after tackling a guy.....who got a first down.

Duplicate.

Duplicate.

I liked Milloy and like everyone else I was shocked when he was cut. I was so excited thinking they were going to pair Rodney Harrison and him in the same secondary.

Lot of good memories and the one crappy one where he lined up way to close to the line vs Antonio Freeman and the 81 yard TD in 97. Clay should of picked him up and didn’t.

in the super bowl right? We were winning until that play

If I remember correctly Milloy and Brady were roommates off the field.

IMO it opened some eyes amongst the players that he would hang with a black defensive player.

He was seen as a guy who could relate to all teammates not just white offensive lineman as was the case with many NFL QBs at the time.

Maybe the reason we don't hear much about him is his last season here was almost 18 years ago.

In a shocking coincidence I have maintained since the early 1990s that my first wife's lawyer was a dog.

I still hear Robert Weathers name tossed around on here a lot and he hasn’t played here in 35 years. ;)
